Ooh, I’ll have to try the ube ones!
Oooh, I picked these up. I like them a lot, like a Milano crossed over with Jammie Dodger.
Does anyone know if Trader Joe’s still sells their Italian Bomba hot pepper sauce? Or has it been discontinued already?
Last I looked it was very much still in stock. But that was a couple of months ago.
Great! Thanks so much.
Yes, they do still have the Italian Bomba sauce and it’s a big Yay! I used it in this recipe and it was a big hit with everyone. Great flavor and spicy but not overwhelming.
Glad you tried them! I polished off the box far too quickly.
Yum! I’ll keep an eye out for these. I have no doubt I’d like them.
YES with a but to the ube Jo-Jos. I like the taste, but the coating isn’t really necessary and just adds more fat.
I made a trader joe’s taco dinner dinner yesterday:
- ground turkey - yay, good for nyc price
- taco seasoning - yay, followed recipe on back of package, half the package was plenty spicy
- pepito salsa - yay, first time trying, might be our new fav tjs bottled salsa
- truly tortilla chips - yay, didn’t detect hint of lime but good, thick chips that didn’t break in bag
- fire roasted tomatoes with green chiles - nay, gotta think these are rebranded muir glen, never a favorite from my pizza adventures. sadly they no longer rebrand top shelf escalon 6-in-1 tomatoes.
- corn and wheat tortillas - meh, looked great but for whatever reason they didn’t seem to heat up correctly and were kinda bland.
I have a package of tjs frozen sfogliatelle in the freezer, looking forward to giving them a try.
Their flour tortillas are very tasty when oven or fry pan warmed (i.e. not microwave) but they get moldy super fast. I’ve even bought them moldy which was annoying. My favorite tortillas though are from the local Mexican grocery.
I like this one - makes a good sauce for proteins too
The handmade flour tortillas are good, also the mini flour ones but those are heavy on calories for the tiny size
our local whole foods carries vista hermosa tortillas, seems like they’ll be worth trying next.
Have you tried their harissa? It’s a traditional / fresh Tunisian style (pepper peels and all) vs the drier tube kind, but very good. Same section.
Of course not. Why would I?
(just kidding)
tried the egg omelets. makes a nice snack. very mild cheddar — melts well. each fits nicely on an english muffin or a slice or toast.
They looked more appealing to me than the egg bites
me, too. didn’t find the spinach, kale, cheese combo appealing. though i will say, i do love, love, love starbucks bacon gruyère egg bites.
