Time for a taste-off – I find it hard to believe any navel could taste better than a sumo
Cara caras are in now too, might as well do them aaaaalllllll at once.

A friend of mine and I tried them; she liked them a lot more than I so I gave them to her. I think they lack salt.
Love the packaging, colors.
Calamansi Mango Sorbet
Wow! Wonderful! Refreshing, not too sweet. Says “limited” on the carton.
That sounds delish! I’ll have to look for it next time I’m there
We really liked the calamansi mango sorbet, too!
I also like the calamansi mango sorbet. However, to me it skews too much mango and a bit too sweet. I’d prefer a lot more of the citrus. But it is refreshing and a great sorbet. I’ll be stockpiling some!
Odd, I found the mango taste a bit faint. I’ll have to stock pile too!
YEA for the new (?) Mini Mochi Rice Nuggets.
The mochi nuggets disappear way too fast… not saying these won’t, but at least the tiny size slows one down.
We went yesterday so I could stock up on gluten-free items, but we got some regular stuff as well. Here’s what we have eaten/tried so far:
YEA to the chicken pot pie (refrigerated) per DH
YEA to the gf Joe-Joes - I didn’t find the filling as tooth-achingly sweet as I remember regular Oreos to be
QUALIFIED YEA to the gf 4-cheese ravioli (refrigerated) - one of the cheeses was sharper than I would have liked, but the pasta was good and they held together well.
YEA!!! to the gf mini chocolate donut holes. They are definitely mini but they are really tasty! Apparently they’re a new(er) product… There’s been a lot of chatter on a local Facebook group about spotting these, but the store we went to (Framingham, MA) had plenty. And I’ll admit that this trip was planned specifically so I could find them.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this one before, but YEA for the Pizza Seasoned Toscano. It’s grated Toscano cheese with some herbs and spices that invoke New York style pizza. Melts well, tastes better than plain mozzarella does on pizza. (@vinouspleasure adding a pic.)
They have a couple of kinds of Toscano wedges too — I saw a black pepper one and a Syrah soaked one.
YEA again for the handmade flour tortillas. They are lovely. I keep them in the fridge or the freezer.
YEA for the Cassava chips — these are always buried at the bottom of the worst shelf at my store, which is probably a good thing.
I noticed fresh chocolate croissants near the butter croissants — anyone tried them?
Also saw a new (to me) Amarena Cherry Double Cream Goat Cheese which reminded me of the cocktail cherries thread.
Oh my, will have to look for that goat cheese.
I finally bought these two weeks ago and I love these! I wonder if these are truly seasonal, or if they might make their way into the regular cookie rotation. I had to go and buy two more boxes this week.
I bought and tried the Amarena Cherry Double Cream Goat Cheese today.
I liked it for a slightly sweet cheese treat. Would have preferred more “goaty” taste but it does say double cream so more cream, less goat. I probably won’t buy it again but I am glad I tried it.
Somewhere between YAY and MEH: the refrigerated gluten-free pizza dough. Rolled out to a 14” round(ish) shape, the pizza was thin and crispy, but the dough was oddly a bit too sweet.
YEA for the Chiave d’Oro cheese. Very flavorful.
Continuing YEA for the mini chicken cilantro wontons.
MEH for the palmier cookies they had before V day. Not as tasty as I had hoped.
I loved those caramel palmiers, and was devastated when I went back for more, and they were already gone. YMMV.
There’s only one cookie I buy at TJ and it’s rarely in stock; it’s there right now, don’t know for how long.
They’ve discontinued the Dr Praeger’s veggie burgers, they had the best price and they were handy for a quick meal.
Yay kimbap. First time trying, first time seeing. There were only 3 in the freezer and I remembered all your words and grabbed one. Generous size, great price, soft rice, flavorful veg filling. No complaints, aside maybe for how hard it is to find?
I tried to find the kimbap at my local TJ last week and didn’t see any - not even a space where they should have been. I hope this is just a temporary stocking issue, and not that they are going away.
