Tips when you're old and hungry

I was hoping to get mine, but I’m too young to qualify

Thanks - I’ll look for those! :ramen:

That’s a great problem to have! Sigh…

Yeah, made me feel about a decade younger.

Not

It’s all a state of mind anyway, right? Not quite, but I wish.

That’s why I aim to keep my mind in a state of blissful oblivion whenever I can.

PA’s not quite there yet, but well on its way. It’s inevitable & hopefully imminent

Lotta chopping, made a double recipe so I could give some away, made about 3 pints. Was going to put garlic then changed my mind.

It’s fresh produce time in my world, so the garden pico is a real highlight for me. God, the difference a tomato makes.

I’m sure Kenji won’t steer you wrong. I need garlic, though. Just a bit, but I gotta garlic.

Looks dang good. You missing anything from the garlic?

I never have any ill effects from the vaccines, just a little redness.

Today at WF I picked up the last Mike’s chicken ramen. I don’t know why I wait to read labels until I’m home … sodium is 38% of daily allowance so this will not be a repeat buy.

The down side of most processed food. But sometimes it is what the body craves.
I typically don’t have adverse reactions to shots either, that shingles shot really got to me.

Nothing happened to me from the 2 shingles vaccine.

A few years ago I got it on one half of my forehead, didn’t know it was shingles, thought I’d never had chicken pox. Good thing I went to a doctor right away because if the fluid drips into your eyes it can blind you. I had to use eye drops every couple of hours day and night

As an adult my daughter gave me mumps, not a pretty sight.

My late dad had it in his ear. The doc at Urgent Care caught it in time to give him meds. Otherwise, he would have lost whatever hearing he had left. Needless to say, I got the vaxxes.

I got the vaccines AFTER my episode, a couple years later. Very expensive, my good insurance wouldn’t cover it. They recommend the vaccines even if you’ve already had shingles.

I didn’t know you could get it in your ear! Supposed to be extremely painful if you get in belly, waistline, back.

I had to pay for my vaxxes, too.
I know of several people who’ve had shingles. All said it was painful. I think you can basically get it anywhere, because it travels along nerves to nerve endings.

When I need a quick lunch a can of sardines has been a go to meal. A squirt of sriracha over the fish does it for me. My wife thinks I’m crazy.

When I was doing fill in work and had a short lunch break due to over booking, supermarket sushi was my quick lunch fix.

I like canned sardines with lemon juice, or smoked oysters with sour cream
