Super Bowl 2024 Eats

Well, it’s just the two of us, and I usually can’t eat a lot of the stuff in one sitting. BUT as I mentioned elsewhere, we finished the entire bowl made with 2 avocados. It was dinner, basically

I actually enjoyed the tactile experience of squeezing out the tomato pulp & chopping the onion, bird pepper and cilantro mix by hand (since the pestling didn’t quite manage to produce the results I was hoping for), although I briefly considered dirtying up my small processor. I tore more cilantro apart by hand to scatter on top. I evolved from a cilantro hater to a lover.

I like to add Furikake to my guacamole.

But you’re right. Basic guacamole is stupendous as-is.

Heck, even a ripe avocado, shelled and de-seeded, and eaten like orange slices is awesome. Like vegetarian butter.

I am happy with it just smeared on good bread with a little salt. Doesn’t even need to be toasted.

Seriously? Nothing like these pinky-finger sized sausages?

Mandatory party food for most group gatherings here in MN

I can’t recall ever seeing them anywhere in my PA childhood of working-class backyard bbq’s, PTA covered-dish suppers, or church functions. Nor anywhere in my adulthood in NYC.

I’m happy eating it straight outta the peel (?) with salt, pepper & lotsa fresh lemon juice.

Did I mention I like tart flavors?

Oh! That’s an interesting spin. I like avocado in my sushi rolls, so I don’t know why this has never occurred to me before.

Suh-weet. I have two perfectly ripe ones in the fridge still
