TY. Wanted to purchase one for my nephew

YW. I think it brings Thermapen One down to about $68.

Thermowork better than Thermopen?

Same difference. Thermoworks makes the Thermopen.

But I think the discount also works for their more esoteric products, some of which are rarely discounted. For instance, I use Type K probes and these never seem to vary in price.

I have thermoworks “Dot” probe thermometer. It’s great. I got one bundled with a pot clip, which makes it great for use if one is doing candy or temping Chou pastry or similar.

It’s meant my roasts and reverse seared or oven finished steaks are now flawless.

I also have an instant read that’s basically a thermopen clone I picked up many years ago from a restaurant supply place. It’s functioned perfectly and I have zero complaints, so maybe a secondary brand is the more cost effective choice. :person_shrugging:

Yes, and as time marches on, there’s less of a quality/feature difference between TW and other brands for this kind of probe.

What I will say is that TW’s sales and technical support is excellent. They’ve also given me courtesy discounts on replacement products in lieu of repairs
