Spring 2026 (Apr-Jun) Dish of the Quarter - NOMINATIONS

Winter has flown and Spring is on her way! Time to nominate a new Dish of the Quarter. Please nominate your ideas in ALL CAPS below. As with last quarter, I’ll do a ranked choice poll for voting, so please limit your nominations to TWO PER PERSON to keep the overall poll manageable. If someone nominates more than two, I’ll take only their first two mentions. I’ll leave noms open until Thursday, March 26, 2026. Thanks, HOs!

DINNER SALADS is not a sentence. And yet.

PIEROGIES

(or is that too close to HAND PIES)

FRIED RICE

(various versions??)

nope, pierogi are closer to dumplings.
pierogi stand on their own!

there is a variation, same etymology, Pirozhki, as well as Bierock, which are related to Pierogi in language but are closer to Hand Pies in form.

@biondanonima Curious about the thought behind limiting to 2 ideas each?

More ideas can prompt interest from more people to center on a few, and lead to fewer options needed for a vote.

For example, I like both Dan’s ideas, and so may others who have also nominated their own. So if more people nominate those (in addition to other ideas they want to put forth), one of them may rise to the top to narrow down choices before voting – instead of having a long list of ideas in a poll, instead of trying to narrow the options down before that.

Of late it seems like there are many scattered ideas (and people who put them forth or vote for them don’t always participate in the resulting thread either) – rather than trying to coalesce on a few in the nomination thread itself.
