Spelling Bee Thread — that is totally a (food) word!

I knew why I liked you

I dealt with college age er adults for 2 decades. I’m ruined.

Those words are ageless in my experience

That, and all the related words, are treated as proper nouns.

Has ackee been mentioned? Came up today

Probably. No bacalao today.

I always try that. They didn’t used to accept callaloo and now that they do, it should follow.

The one that pisses me off every time is caponata.

That would piss me off, too. Callaloo’s been around since I started playing.

I about to the point that I’m just going to go back to doing the crossword puzzles. Except for the easy ones.

Oh, I still love the Bee and almost always get to QB :upside_down_face:

That doesn’t stop me from doing Wordle, Connections, the Mini & Midi plus the NYer’s Shuffalo every day —my morning ritual with my coffee

I do strands, too. My starting word for Wordle is political rather than practical- helps me let off steam., if not win.

Mine was arise/raise first, then alert, now it’s audio. I let off steam outside of my puzzle activities, as I do them after I wake up, and my BP doesn’t need that kind of “excitement” that early in the day

I could never figure out Strands.

Curaçao today. Huh.

I played it for a while, but I don’t really like it. So I stopped.

Worked for me.

Yes, same here. I was surprised about its inclusion. The entire point of this thread is the absolute randomness of including names of various places or foods, yet excluding others.

I use aisle mainly. If no letters from there my second word is always pouty. I play wordle and dordle every morning. Then later in the afternoon I tackle spelling bee, connections, strands, tiles, letter box and mini crossword. Also like waffle on different site.

Oh, I thought you were saying it wasn’t there for you. It’s been included as long as I recall.

I don’t do Strands or Letter Boxed. I do Spelling Bee, Wordle, Connections, and all the crosswords. So many crosswords, not just NYT, but many other pubs (New Yorker, Atlantic, Vox, Slate, LAT, NY Magazine). I’m a junkie.

You might enjoy Shuffalo, but IDK if you need a subscription.
