Spelling Bee Thread — that is totally a (food) word!

I didn’t want to clog up the WOYM thread with my and other players’ frustrations, so… feel free to drop your own here.

Since not everyone plays the puzzle at the same time, I would request that you use the “blur spoiler” function when you post.

Today’s personal annoyance: cuvée.

That is WAY TOO FRENCH. I’m with Spelling Bee on this one.

Eh. They allow naan, raita, etc. Not exactly English language terms, AFAIK. And diminutives like “innie” or "outtie. And baby talk terms, too.

The annoyance is with the randomness with which some food words are included, while others aren’t.

I keep hoping “hoohah” will be allowed at some point.

It wouldn’t surprise me. Doodad, booboo, and chichi are words in SB.

SB is losing its appeal. I used to regularly hit genius with an occasional QB. Now, I simply quit at amazing.
Quordle is a fun word game. Wordle x 4.

One that pops up regularly (including Monday this week): AMARO

And one from Tuesday that is maybe a bit too far out there (but still annoying to me!): CICCHETTI

I love octordle also. Rescue game is especially fun.

I never quit before hitting Queen Bee, but I still enjoy it — despite the annoyances to be posted here in the future, no doubt

I know to lots of you, this is routine, but not to me! I usually just get to Genius.

Congratulations! I don’t think I’ve once made it to QB without checking hints for the remaining last 5-6 words — which are usually ones I’m not familiar with at all, or the occasional really daft oversight on my end…

I didn’t know it was possible to get hints. I’ve never done it. That’s probably why this is only my 6th or so Queen Bee. I do have this hat, though:

You get to it from the top right corner. That takes you to the SB forum, and when you scroll down there’s a link for personalized hints, i.e. it eliminates words you’ve guessed already, etc.

It’s helpful when I’m completely stuck.

But I almost always see the pangram(s) right away.

I think I will steer clear, because I already cheat at Framed when I don’t know the movie. :joy:

:eyes: link?

Thanks for starting this! I’ve often wondered what makes them allow certain food words but not others.

Today I got BLINI and FLAN.

NAF, but this has been bothering me for a long time now: ammo is a word, but mammo is not?

Huh.

This concerns me as well.
