Needs a TV for tomorrow!
He’ll be inside with his iced Dunks and Sam for the game!
Snow will get shoveled aftah. ![]()
I’ve long thought that someone with the money (or ability to raise such) should lease storefront spaces next to dispensaries and stock them with munchies - and colorful, gooey, sugar-filled pastries.
I think every year there are photos of Girl Scouts selling their cookies in front of dispensaries.
Costco executive hours had a line dozens deep out the door before they opened at 9. All in all it wasn’t too bad - we finished before 10. Got some nice croissant sliced bread I haven’t seen before which I just ordered for overnight French toast. (Think all the French toast talk in this thread got into my head!!) Will serve with bacon in the morning.
*prepared! Not ordered. Putting it in the oven now, as the snow is starting to come down in earnest…
@ieatalotoficecream That looks great! ![]()
The perfect start to a snow day!
It really was! And we’re deep into the focaccia recipe from Baked Elements (double batch) and Samin Nosrat’s big lasagna.
YUM! Perfect day for pasta ![]()
Snow day!
The plan:
- Nosh on party leftovers.
- Chips and guac for football.
- Dinner: roast chicken with herbed butter under the skin, on a bed of parsnips, carrots and potatoes. Green salad. Leftover Kentucky butter cake and tea for dessert

Two dippy eggs, bacon, toast (pic taken before I improved that dry-ass slice with a shmear of Boursin).
Looks like a face with mumps ![]()
The lasagna turned out ridiculously good. We made our own pasta sheets and didn’t bother cooking them before layering. The recipe made exactly 20 sheets as stated in our KA pasta attachment, and we were really pleased with how they turned out. It was pretty labor/time intensive but completely worth it.
We frosted cupcakes and decorated them (cupcakes and frosting were both freezer dives).
We’re at a foot and counting and it’s still coming down. (That’s a ruler buried in the snow, lol.)
