Savory S’mores

How would you fill a savory s’more?
Halloween party plans includes this appetizer idea and I’d love some ideas. TIA.

Hmmm. Ritz crackers, melted sharp cheddar, bacon jam or bbq sauce?

Croque monsieur, perhaps?

Great idea! Spiral ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickle, Dijon mustard?

I like the sound of those savory “cookies”

I’d probably eat them with a piece of good salami and a sour dill pickle slice

This sounds unduly complicated.

I’m no stranger to pie irons, a/k/a hobo or pudgy pie irons. Basically any filled, grilled sandwich or biscuit can be delicious.
Pie Iron

Too complicated for a party of 40. Savory s’mores include heating cheese in place of marshmallows typically and those Bonnie Bell waxed rounds once unwrapped are the most common cheese on a stick portion. Hunks of Swiss and muenster too.

I’m going to prepare fruit we enjoy grilled: pineapple, apple, avocado along with prepared cuts of ham, turkey, tomato, onion, peppers and let folks fix their own sticks. Spreads and breads that match. Those deli loaves of mini rye work nicely.

Aside from the tasty fun it frees up being in the kitchen during the party.
