Recommendations for niche recipe blogs?

I discovered this site recently through a series of coincidences, and have found a lot of what’s on here super interesting.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the likes of NYT Cooking, Bon Appétit, or Serious Eats, but it’s always seemed a real shame that the nature of the modern Web makes it hard to discover fun niche communities like this.

In that vein, curious if people here have recommendations for other more “off the beaten path” places to find interesting recipes and at-home cooking content?

There are a couple of French-language examples that I’ve come across as examples (if that’s relevant here on an English-language site!), but I have to imagine there are many more waiting to be discovered.

Welcome!

Not sure if this qualifies as ‘niche,’ as it’s fairly popular, but I still like using it for my forays into Chinese cooking at home.

These are my favourite recipe blogs or sites:

I really like Felicity Cloake’s column

This site is a father and son team. Father is a retired, classically trained Cantonese chef. The son, the guy who put together the website and video. They won a James Beard award. And I can verify they know what they’re doing. Looks like Dad and Son…but there’s a staff of about 100 to make it run.

This is a great list! A few more of my favorites:

Memorie di Angelina - blogger is Italian-American, but most recipes are traditional and regional Italian, as he lived in Rome for many years. His research and recipes are great and very doable.

I second Chinese Cooking Demystified and I also love Mala Market. They are a U.S. purveyor of high-quality, regional Chinese ingredients, but their recipes and deep dives are excellent; primarily Sichuan focused.

Life’s a Feast by Jamie Schler - American food writer living in France for decades; she dives historically into one French recipe or recipe category and then leaves you with a doable recipe.

Just a note to everyone that Substack has a whole food and drink category.
