High levels of toxic metals found in all samples of rice (145 of them) sold in US markets.

The report they cite:

Salmonella cukes:

In Canada

Not to worry. Soon, cuts to the FDA will render them unable to alarm the public with these scary warnings.

Salmonella risk has caused a big recall of eggs produced by a company in California and sold under various names in western US states. Here’s the FDA’s page, including the brand names.

I’m in the minority of people who has never eaten even one …

Jolly Ranchers were a really big deal when I was a kid, when they were sold in the States, but not in Canada. Kids would bring them back after trips to the States. Watermelon Jolly Ranchers were especially popular, since the flavour was a novelty. Same with Watermelon Jelly Bellies, which had pink inside the green shell.

After they were available to purchase in Canada for a few years, they weren’t such a big deal!

We buy the Jolly Rancher gummies occasionally. I don’t really like eating hard candy these days.

I basically don’t like hard candy, but I do love the occasional (once every 4-5 years) Jolly Rancher. The watermelon and green apple flavors are so good.
