Product Recalls and Warnings

It didn’t take a ‘Lucy’ event for my dear roomate to be poisoned by a serving of Stagg chili (which came in a holiday gift ‘care package’ ) many, many years ago. One never knows! Be safe out there, folks!

Yes … one time I read the Fritos label … it’s GMO. Oh how I truly love the scoops very occasionally, now no more. So TJ’s are better.

For some reason the Treehouse waffle recall isn’t up on the USDA pages yet. I get their email alerts, and the product is sold at places " including but not limited to Albertson’s, Aldi, Dollar General, Foodhold, HEB, Kroger, Publix, Target and Walmart". The email alert mentions a complete list, but doesn’t include or link to it.

Add some salmon products from Costco to the recall list…listeria.

The McDonald’s e-coli breakout is traced to a single farm in Salinas, CA.

(I asked the mods to rename the topic to include warnings, in addition to recalls. Thanks, ipse)

Thanks. I’ve thought about this several times even before the most recent issue. Salads ready to eat out of the bag with multiple ingredients, precut vegetables…more handling obviously opens up more changes for contamiination.

And now Costco smoked salmon:

Oh, no! I love them!

Has anyone out there in HO Land been experiencing an egg shortage or poultry shortage due to avian flu? I noticed in the store the other day that some of Mary’s chicken products aren’t/won’t be available. Nothing on their website. Then, my egg supplier has not been selling eggs for about two weeks now. There is an avian flu case of backyard fowl somewhere in this area, but I can’t seem to get that info, and my egg supplier isn’t sayin’ anything. Any ideas?

Update on Boar’s Head…7 million pounds of deli meat!

Uh oh. I had 4 ozs. Not from Costco, but it’s gone now. Chomped.

I think it’s limited to the lot numbers I posted, and only from Costco.

Anyone know the current status of the onion issue? We were at an Islands restaurant (California chain) a few days ago and they had no onion rings AND said they couldn’t buy them at a local market due to the risk. BUT my local Albertson’s had a full normal selection yesterday. Just a cautious company decision by Islands??
