Good news. I can picture the boyz doing zoomies, delighted to have you back home. And lots of snuggles.
No, my personal laptop is too old, and I canāt/wouldnāt bring my work laptop for security reasons.
I have my Kindle (with plenty in my TBR folder) so I could stream Amazon movies, and theyāve got a decent number of TV channels at the hospital I can find something to watch if I want.
Well, my 3rd stent got pushed off for the 2nd time to Monday. The Cath Lab only does emergencies on the weekend, and since Iām now cobsidered a stable patient, and they had several emergencies, I get pushed again. Iām going to push to be first or second on Monday. That might get me out on Monday evening, or latest, Tuesday morning.
Iām definitely looking forward ro that!
At my first after-implantation consultation with my cardiologist, he asked if I had any questions.
ricepad: Yeah, Doc. With these stents, my arteries are back almost to regular capacity, right? That means I can eat as much pork belly, chicken skin, and the fat on the edges of my rib eye steaks now, right?
Doc: Uh, no, thatās not remotely what that means.
ricepad: Oh. Bummer.
So maybe not quite back to normal, but itās pretty close!
When I was in the hospital for my emergency surgery, I was in the cath lab for ⦠yes ⦠a pre-surgery cath and I literally got pushed off the table because someone came in via ambulance with an emergency MI who needed a =n immediate cath (and I assume a stent). The nurses were so apologetic. I didnāt see any reason to apologize! And then one said, would you like me to go up to your room and get your iPad? This is going to take a while ā¦. How very thoughtful of her. I didnāt mind the wait ā¦
For my last ablation, I was at the hospital at 6am; it was damn hard to be there so early. Got into bed and was prepped (chest and groin shaved), then at 8am was told that Iād be going in at 9am. At 8:30 the coordinator came over, looking nervous, to tell me that they didnāt have a nurse available, so it would have to be postponed. No point in getting upset. It was the middle of summer, so my wife and I went for breakfast on a patio by a lake.
Linda, hope you are doing much, much better. So scary for you.
@Wtg2Retire , weāll see tomorrow after the 3rd stent.
Hope it all goes swell & you, and Iām sure your cats are gonna be delirious with joy for your reunion Tuesday
UPDATE: poor Linda is STILL waiting for her 3rd stent, now postponed AGAIN to 1pm today.
Letās all send good juju this can finally be done with, and that Linda gets to go home by tomorrow to be in her own space with her lovely two kittehs
Letās hope so. Iām exhausted from the efforts of sending transatlantic juju. Itās hard work you know.
Maybe they just donāt want you to leave yet???!
Sending good thoughts your way.
Aaaand sheās headed to the OR right now. Keep sending good juju, 'cept for @Harters who needs to save his energy
Thank you for the update.
You got this, @LindaWhit !!!
Our dear Linda is out of the OR. Sheāll update us over on the WFD thread
Iām fine. Had a rest, eaten dinner, watched the first episode of finals week of Masterchef - The Professionals. Ready to resume juju sending.
Got the call up to the majors at 2:20 in the eighth inning. After a brief warm-up, they put me in around 3:30. Based on the doctorās and nursesā comments, I hit it out of the park. (OK, thatās all the baseball analogies I can think of! )
Everything went really well. This one I remember as I wasnāt put underā¦just local. So some uncomfortableness, but not painful. Out by 4:45, recovery for about an hour, back in my room at 6 p.m.
Iām slowly being weaned off a brace and wrap that is TIGHTLY wrapped around my left wrist (from where the cath went in to insert the stent) to prevent any excess bleeding.
Feeling good. Ordered dinner, and provided nothing goes wonky overnight, should be released tomorrow.
I. CANNOT. WAIT.
Thanks for your support through all of this.
