It’s around $9 for a 5# bag at the groceries in the PNW.
Bob’s Red Mill was the best of a bad lot I tasted.
Krusteaz, Hungry Jack, Pearl Milling (FKA Aunt Jemima), Kodiak were the other brands I tasted. I refused to pay $8.00 for a small canister of Stonewall Kitchens.
I think the last bag I bought, a few months ago, was about $7 for 5#. Do you have Albertson’s/Safeway stores where you live? $25 sounds excessive, but considering the Amazon paradigm, they’ll charge what they can. Maybe things will change and you’ll be able to find it at a reasonable price, sometime.
I also love to blanket sausages with them. Real maple, butter and two sausage links, I’m home. Buckwheat is like MADE for “panpakes” (how my son pronounced it when he was little.) I think that’ll be on the menu tomorrow AM.
Welcome to the HO Boards “Tex”.
And lat’s stuff you could make on your own, sans HFCS, CS and sugar. European kids that come to my school as student notice this right away. Sugar in bread, tomato sauce, every frickin’ thing.
Thanks for joining us, Tex. The folks around here are actually nice.
