CORN AND BLACK BEAN SALAD WITH CORN CHIPS

EASY CHICKPEA SALAD

For those of you who are also in the midst of a three day heat wave, I can highly recommend both of these salads that are filling enough for lunch or dinner (maybe pair with veggie side or some cheese and crackers or something, if you’re feeling ravenous, which I never really am on days like today where it’s 97° before noon) and don’t require any cooking whatsoever.

To the black bean salad tonight, I added radishes and tomatoes to make up the corn deficit (was shy of 4 cups)- both good additions. I got lime chips which worked great with it. To the chickpea salad, I usually add chopped olives (could do feta instead).

Me, too, my basement pantry has many special ingredients that I forget about…out-of-sight, out-of-mind…

I just now “unearthed” (it was among many spices and seasonings and oils and bottles on the counter a lovely hot sauce we purchased in FL in March! I’d completely forgotten about it.

It was still unopened

I thought I had this saved but it is a F&W recipe with the same name. Which one to try?

I buy an item, don’t get around to the recipe, then see the item later and don’t remember what it was for. Maybe I should keep a log when I buy special items!

Is anyone else having trouble sharing gift links from NYT? It’s the second day today where a pop-up shows up “we’re sorry, something went wrong.”

I’m not having any trouble accessing gift links.

I am lazy so I’d go with the Times one for the simplicity. But the addition of vermouth sounds enticing. Also, I did mine on the grill so they were less saucy. I just brushed with the garlic butter before plating. I feel like you can’t go wrong with either!

I will never forget those kebabs, as I now have an imprint of the red hot metal skewer on the tip of my finger for all eternity :rofl:

I’m accident prone, that’s why I use bamboo.

I’m a subscriber. I can access any NYT cooking link. My problem (for the last 48 hrs at least) has been the inability to share a gift link.

I really need to do this! I start and then can’t find the list, and I can’t use my phone to make lists because of severe arthritis. Besides, handwriting stuff helps me remember more. Connects different with the brain. There isn’t room in my kitchen for a bulletin board and the small refrigerator doesn’t have spare space either. I’m going to start a notebook!

Sorry I was unclear. I’m also a subscriber, I meant I’m not having any issues generating gift links, using the share button and copying the gift link.

Very good idea!

I tried again today. Nope. No dice. This is the message that pops up.

WTF.

WTF indeed. I’m not having any problems. However my hyper link quit working and I have no idea why or how to fix it. The joys of living in the electronic age.

Try deleting your web browser cookies, maybe. Should be under settings somewhere.

I did that, cache too. Tried a different mouse. The problem is the word I highlight shows up in the dialog box where the URL goes.

Appears to have been a brief glitch. Whew!

Strange. And you’re unable to delete it?
