Love it! They really do a great job; I worked in Essex County for many years and any chance I had to get lunch from there or pick up dinner on the way home, I was always happy to have done so. We DO need that caliber of a deli south of the Driscoll for sure!

Clark, Deli King close enough? They make incredible sloppy joe platters and sandwiches to go.

Another positive vote for Clark Deli King. Without a doubt, almost as good as Katz’s. Best yet in NJ. Their pastrami is machine sliced rather than hand sliced which subtracts a point,

There are rumors circulating on NextDoor that Chefs International bought Rod’s in Sea Girt…anyone know if that’s true?

It’s true.

FREE COFFEE at DUNKIN’ ON WED SEPT 9th ONLY:

Wednesday is a day North and Central Jersey residents may want to run on Dunkin’.

The popular coffee and doughnut franchise is giving away one free small iced coffee with any purchase to all guests at certain locations.

The following New Jersey counties with Dunkin’ stores are participating: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.

A Dunkin’ press release announcing the promotion said it was “to officially welcome New York Tri-State area guests to kick off their post Labor Day routine.” (Sorry, South Jersey.)

The giveaway is from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday only, and it is available via drive-thru, carry-out and curbside pickup.

Someone I follow on Twitter says she’s a former chef and food writer, but when I mentioned Manchego, she said she’s never had it. That’s it. That’s my food news of the day.

(And yes, I know my snob is showing.)

Battleview Orchards is in Freehold
Eastmont Orchards is in Colts Neck

I’ve been to both over many years. Check their FB pages for daily apple variety reports. Battleview also has a general store worth visiting.
