New Jersey Coronavirus/Covid19 Local Restaurant Specials

Agreed! I was thinking today that we have some big HOdowns in our future…

We’ve gotten delivery from the Bottle King in Hillsdale (Bergen Co.). Online order and delivery same or next day. works beautifully. no contact delivery left on the porch, if that’s what you indicate in order notes.

That’s so awesome Greg. I’m a big fan of Neelam also, I can’t wait to go back and hit their buffet. Mmmmm

Oh yeah, their buffet is a steal. Especially for holidays. They charge like maybe $2 more but up the variety with additional lamb and goat offerings.

If the buffet ever opens I’m game if you need a fellow HO. I’ve never had their buffet.

DJeet has reopened. They are doing full prepaid curbside orders with a limited menu and taking order for 1/2 trays as well with notice. The are also selling provisions like fruits, veggies, limited paper goods, and raw meats/seafood.

Delicious orchards doing pre-packs. No substitutions, mix of meats, produce, dairy, etc etc, no contact pickup (well, 6 feet). There is a video explaining it, and the menu changes daily it seems. Prices are a little jacked up over what it would normally be, but it seems like all places are doing that as demand and convenience warrants. https://www.deliciousorchardsnj.com/d-o-pre-pack/

Had been noted elsewhere. When they started and had an all-produce pack and an “essentials” pack, the produce pack was appealing, but now that to get fresh produce I have to also buy American cheese, a bag of donuts, and meat, it is less attractive (to me-YMMV).
My friend, however, thinks it’s terrific. All it needs to send her over the moon would be a roll of toilet paper. :relaxed:

Not local and kinda Sysco-ish from the look of their website, but reasonable and delivered right to your door.

agree, the prices are a tad high for what you get- not like DO has ever been cheap though. But its a nice service and gives both customers and employees some safety.
On that note- I will be avoiding ShopRite locations for a while. They are just WAY too packed. TJ’s by nature is more set up to distance and are really going above for both customers and employees. Foodtown was less crowded when I went too. They are enforcing a limit of 1 on water, paper goods, and eggs. Rough for me as im also shopping for some family members who are of age/illness traits who should not be going outdoors these days.
I need a Costco run which I’m not looking fwd to at all - hopefully its not too much of a zoo.

We took in from Local Smoke Neptune last night and made our donation. Super easy on their on-line ordering page … just add it to your cart.

Talk about a pleasant surprise, got take out from MJ’s (Tinton Falls) last night because my daughter wanted sushi. I was pretty much against the idea but my son wanted pizza so I was ok with that. Well, well, well the sushi was f’n fantastic! I couldn’t believe how good it was and you know what, the white pie with broccoli wasn’t half bad either. It could have used a seasoned crust in my opinion but the ricotta and broccoli was nice and fresh and overall enjoyable.

This has been my biggest quarantine surprise! Still won’t go there to eat, but would get take out again without hesitation.

Interesting! What kind of sushi?

Funny I just threw away her order sheet, we ordered:

Shrimp tempura roll
Spicy crab roll
Kimoto Dragon
White lotus
Spicy shrimp and avacado
Turning Japanese roll (? That’s what her sheet says lol)

Somewhere above I posted Gariguilio’s looked like they had closed and stopped take out. I stand corrected and would hate for any misinformation provided by myself to impact even one customer. So please support them if you like something you see on their menu!!

Good luck to them and all our local spots!

Last night’s dinner from Richard’s in West End (Long Branch). Says it feeds 6 … in my house it fed 7 and was a delightful treat.

repost of an earlier one- but may be helpful to some

for any of you on FB and in Monmouth/Ocean county or who are fans of spots there (most of us here on the NJ board)- there’s a pretty active group where patrons and owners participate: “Curb Side Pick up Monmouth County”. It’s a public group and has a ton of posts about spots/specials and has a few lists as well.

I suggested to Delicious Orchards on Twitter that they do Passover packs of produce only (no bread, finuts, or meat). They “liked” my tweet; if you think it’s a good idea please like it as well. Twitter link
