So I recently took return delivery of my treasured 24cm x 3mm planished oven from Hammersmith Cookware.
Some here may recall Hammersmith’s owner, Jeff Herkes, posting here that for the month of October 2023, Hammersmith was offering FREE retinning. Ordinarily, I’dve been suspicious of any such offer, but I knew Jeff as a standup guy and supercompetent. So I built my baby a snug strongbox, and off she went, insured, for her semester abroad (in New Jersey).
Well, she just got back, ready for the runway. No more exposed copper inside.
The funny part is: I was going to make soup in her yesterday, and Wahine made me use another pot. She said she wanted to admire Jeff’s fantastic polish job for a few more days.
FYI, Jeff/Hammersmith also makes and sells very good copper cookware! Maybe lesser known than the competition, but every bit as worthy.
