my air fryer toaster oven stopped working

My air fryer toaster oven Toshiba AC25CEW-BS suddenly stopped working without any warning. It was working fine one day ago and the next it just wouldn’t turn on. No power, no lights, nothing. I tried different outlets, checked the plug and even let it cool down completely, but still no luck. It’s frustrating because I used it almost every day for cooking and reheating meals, and now I’m stuck without it. any suggestions or anyone here faced the same problem?

Presumably an electrical issue. You’ve checked the plug end of the power cable, so it may be that the other end has become disconnected. That may or may not be easy to check, depending on how easily you can open up the unit. Poking around in the internal mechanism of household kit is outside my comfort zone, so I’ve no experience here.

My air fryer stopped working after 4 uses. I had purchased it off of eBay and it was past the 30 day warranty.

I took it apart and using a multi-meter, I figured out where the power was dropping out. A safety fusible link had blown. It was only on for about 15-20 minutes, so I figured this was just some overly “safe” feature. Which explained why these units were on eBay for so cheap.

Using some scrap wire, I “jumpered” around the fusible link, put it all back together and got it working. I put it outside and ran it for almost an hour with no fire or overheating. I brought it back in and cooked with it. I don’t 100% trust the thing, so I don’t leave it unattended if I’m using it.

Sunshine wanted me to throw it out, but it was one of those battles that I had to win.

If you are asking for advice on how to fix yours, take a multi-meter and see where the power is dropping out. I might start at the fuse or fusible link. You might be able to purchase a replacement fuse.

buy a new one

which one will best? i use it for air frying, baking, reheating leftovers and occasionally toasting or roasting. I also want something with good capacity and reliability as I cook for a family of four.

In the meantime…

I bought one for my mom (who lives in your part of the world) and she does her summer outdoor cooking on her lanai (patio) with it, so as to keep the house cooler.

Works great.

If it’s not in the wiring going in, it might be a blown timer switch, or defective potentiometer (temp) switch. If it is the former, you should probably go new. If it’s in the power “entry” it’s usually a cheap and easy fix; as Dan points out.

Since I don’t own one, here’s some Consumer Reports on them.
