Michelin Guide to Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2024

The Michelin Guide announced its 2024 list for Kuala Lumpur and Penang last night.

Most talked-about was Dewakan becoming the first 2-Michelin-starred restaurant in Malaysia.

Held at the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the 2024 Guide also saw DC by Darren Chin (KL), Au Jardin (Penang) and Auntie Gaik Lean (Penang) retaining their 1-Michelin-star.

Owner-chef of Au Jardin, Kim Hock Su, seen left-most in the pic below. Owner of Auntie Gaik Lean, Adrian Tan (he’s the son of owner-chef, Madam Beh Gaik Lean), was right-most.

An exciting addition to the Michelin-starred list is KL’s inventive Beta.

With the team behind Beta, the latest 1-Michelin-starred restaurant in the Michelin Guide 2024 to Kuala Lumpur & Penang: Kelvin Cheah, Chef Raymond Tham and Alex Cheah.
