Magimix Food Processors

Wow! My motor was still going strong after almost 25 years of regular home use and the blades were still super sharp, but the bowl gave up the ghost. The only replacement I could find was over $200, so I decided to upgrade, but if I ever find a replacement bowl under $100 I will definitely snap it up to get all the life I can out of that motor!

I would be willing to posit hat 10 years of restaurant use is the equivalent of 40 to 100 years of home use. Just one master batch of pesto called for 10 bowls full of processing. We brought out the machine for use like that multiple times.

The Machines (R2s and R4s) in the Kitchens where I have worked get multipel uses in a single Day.
WAAAAAAAAAY heavier use than any Home Kitchen. Especially in Catering Kitchens, less so as you move up the Haute Cuisine Ladder.

Our first cat, Lord Poopington promised us when he left on his final adventure that he had a great pair of kitties in mind for us. He done good! He had a very old and very wise soul.

I own the Magimix 5200 XL.

I’ve had it for 4+ years now.
Barely used it 20 times.

Yet another machine in my kitchen that collects dust.
I dust it off once in a while though.

Seems like a well built FP.

Only downfall I can find is that if you use the small inner bowl, you have to use the larger bowls too and they will get a bit dirty, so instead of having to wash just the smallest bowl, you’ll have to wash all 3 bowls.

Other than that it’s a great FP - based on my limited experience with it though LOL
