This is my return in 2018. I found this noodle shop from memory. It’s a bit fancier since 2007 and 2008 when I visited Macau in my youthful reckless novice backpacking and eating days.
Stayed at hotel Vila Universal both times, the noodle shop is right across the street. The owner gave us the exact same room both times and no English was spoken back then.
Found it! What it looks like on the outside. They are a “Michelin starred” establishment now.
With extra green onions comes with an extra cost. This was for the partner.
Not a lot of prawn roe, unlike the photos in the binder.
Water spinach with fermented bean curd sauce
.
It’s loaded with prawn roe in the photos.
Menu in Chinese on the wall

First visit ever back in 2007. I’m nostalgic for the old days when things were simpler.

.
Braised eef brisket
Pork shin
Meals used to come with a small bowl of broth for each person. Used to.
Couldn’t find this beer and Macau beer anymore.

In 2008. Menus were no longer hand-written.
.
Roasted pork/char siu.
A bit more roe back then.
.
All these trilingual signs have been removed.
I would eat here if I go to Macau again but the other one in Hong Kong near my lodging will do just fine.
One can have the same meals in HK:
I had a similar meal at Mak’s earlier in the day and wanted to try this place on the same day just to compare. Besides, it’s only 2 or 3 MTR stops from my lodging (Mong Kok). When in HK my priority is to eat wonton noodle soup, roast meats, and dimsum. So glad I found this one (on Open Rice site, I think). Mak’s good but I like KK’s more. Speaking for myself only of course.
There are big photos of the dishes and their names on the wall. You can order a combo if you want a full, substantial meal…
