Lunch 2024

In spite of the chard, or maybe because of the chard, it was one of my better ones!
And yes, your dislike of chard has travelled far and wide :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

this time with a toasted slice of homadama, capers & chive cream cheese, porchetta, and two eggses. Small bowl of leftover salad from last night for health.

I’ve been having some gut issues for a week (yes, already been to the doctor’s office), so I’ve been trying to keep it uber-simple.

This grilled chicken and rice pilaf dinner from the pizza place downstairs was $13.28 after tax. Humongous! I ate maybe one-third, packed another third away for tomorrow, AND I gave the 3rd third portion to a coworker!

Hope you are feeling better.
You have a pizza place downstairs? I would never cook again!

Yeah, Stachey’s has a decent iteration of a NY style pizza - thin crust (mostly, but not cracker-thin, which I don’t like). Their subs are decent, as are their calzones. When newbies order a large calzone when we have a company lunch, I just smile and order it for them. When it arrives and it barely fits in a LARGE pizza box, they get the idea and order a small calzone the next time. We used to have to walk up the street to the restaurant from our old location, but now that we’ve moved into new space ATF (after the flood), they’re right below us by one floor. Will be VERY convenient in the dead of winter when I didn’t bring in a lunch from home.

I hope you get your tummy troubles taken care of. Going on 8+ years of dealing with them, looking for light at the end of the road, here. It’d be so easy to eat only the boringist foods…

I best the magnificent aroma of an Italian pizzeria wafts through the building.

I’d be in real trouble if Angelo’s were in our bldg. OTOH, their pies are so big they last for several meals for 2, but… yeah. We’d be eating a LOT of pizza

In the outside hallway, yes, it does! Or at least the smell of something cooking!

Today’s lunch was a vegetarian curry.

Last single girl lunch was tapas — inspired by what was in the fridge & also by @PedroPero’s recent Spain trip (queso, beans, jamón, boquerones) — although pretty much all the ingredients are of Italian provenance
