Lunch 2024

Oh that looks delicious!
You should try it with focaccia another time too.
The sandwich I posted also had sliced green olives that weren’t visible.

This was spur of the moment as I had gotten burrata at the FM in the morning. And…I actually have used some Castelvetrano olive pesto on the sandwich ( with ricotta) on another occasion…must make some more.

I love Castevetranos — they’re one of the few olives I like actually. I think a little Castelvetrano tapenade would be lovely with the burrata and mortadella.

The focaccia was so light and thin that it barely interfered with the other flavors — not at all a doughy sandwich.

That sounds so delicious! I actually removed a fair amount of the crumb from the bread so it wouldn’t be so bready, but of course, not as thin as the focaccia.

Turkey club , because @linguafood , I wanted one, too. Freshly roasted half breast turkey, bone on, from TJ. I ended up deboning it because Empire left so much neck bone attached. But , it was worth it, roasted up nice and juicy. In addition, the usual fillings, bacon, tomato and little gem lettuce.

Dessert was red plum cake and plum compote.

Yours looks so much better than what I got, though! And I am now having club envy myself, bc my tooth is acting up, and big bite sammiches are out for now :frowning:

That’s the only problem with this type of sandwich…holding it together and managing a bite! Hope you are up to snuff, soon!

Last night’s leftover pan-fried cod became today’s fish tacos. With avocado, roasted red peppers, and feta.

A lame-o lunch of a quarter iceberg, half an avocado, a few flavor bomb tomatoes, and a store-bought dressing that was kinda meh.

Today’s lunch was a potato tomato salad.

TFW someone’s lunch picture reminds you that you forgot to eat that half avocado AGAIN and it’s totally gonna be all brown tomorrow. :frowning:

(Next time, wrap it in cling wrap, tight against the cut part, and refrigerate)

And leave the stone in :grinning:

I put the remaining half in a quart-size freezer bag with ideally most of the air squeezed out. And if there’s any brown on top I just shave the top off. Sharp knives FTW.

Guess what I’m having for breakfast this weekend?!?!
They’ll pail in comparison to your delicious looking sandwiches, but I’ve been wanting for months to get this offer on my app(which is pretty sad tbh )

I did all this send me your hopes/prayers.

Oh so good and maybe a little bad.
Pizzette fritte inspired by Rachel Roddy, these small fried pizzas are too good. RR made her dough with potato, I made mine with TJ’s. I initially thought I wouldn’t invest the time in making the dough but try it with TJ’S first, now I wouldn’t bother with homemade. These take maybe 4 minutes to fry, I had about 3/4 inch of oil in a saucier.
After draining, these were topped with sauce and some mozz that I had grated, popped in a very low oven to melt the cheese while I fried the remaining dough.
Fast fix for a pizza craving if you don’t want to use the grill, oven, etc.
