One of my colleagues starts mat leave next Friday so we had a potluck baby shower for her today. I brought an artichoke salad. Other buffet items included two types of pasta salad, hummus and pita, cheese, veggie tray, four dozen cupcakes (which were AWESOME but seemed like much more), the best homemade cookies I’ve ever had, and chocolate dipped strawberries. I know I’m missing a few things Good thing I walk home from work. There was so. much. food. No picture of lunch this time.
Not inside, but on top of scrambled eggs, avocado toast, rice bowls, and sandwiches. I love their lightly eggy flavor. I think they would be really cute on top of deviled eggs. They are also good just dressed with olive oil and flaky salt and eaten like a salad.
Sure hope you will get and share the recipe!
Trying to mix things up a bit today. Went to the weekly market, where the choices are a-plenty: burgers, grilled cheese, gözleme, fish sandwiches & fish soup, porchetta sammiches, empanadas, kebabs, falafel… we ended up getting the smoked salmon roll & a fish soup with rouille.
Nice and light, and both very flavorful
They make a good burger !
They do! No complaints about our local branch.
Lovely banh mi from the nearby Sunday street food market. Pic doesn’t do it justice. Super-friendly dude at the stand, too, and the baguette had a green tint I asked him about. They make different baguettes and sometimes add turmeric, or beets, and in this case spirulina. Whoda tunk!
Plenty of sammich for the both of us. Off to see some fancy German art now
I’ve never tried a Five Guys, though I’ve checked out the online menu. I’ll def look again to see if they have a kiddie size.
I think they might. You can definitely order a single burger, but the default is the double!
I could force myself to adapt. Sometimes we just have to meet those dining challenges with mouths wide open.
BF and I went on an excursion about 45 minutes north to a local institution - J.T. Farnham’s, which specializes in fried clams and chowder:
Delicious and I am still digesting the enormous amount of sunshine, as much as I am our very large lunch!
Today’s Sunday omelet had havarti, maitake mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and asparagus. The artichoke hearts didn’t quite work, with their touch of tartness.
McCain crinkly fries got nice and crisp in the air fryer.
It was a gorgeous day, wasn’t it? You went to a classic!
It was! We’re looking forward to trying some of the other ones!
Were the hearts marinated? I go for the non-marinated frozen ones, defrost and drain them well before adding to an omelet or frittata.
Non-marinated, in brine in a jar, and I rinsed and soaked them. I couldn’t find the frozen ones anywhere.
