Lunch 2024

Toasted 2-cheese (cheddar and swiss) with sliced onions and thinly sliced ribeye steak meat. I used Duke’s mayo as the fat on outside of the bread.

So weird, if i just copy/paste the background disappears, but if i use the upload it pulls the background too.

I was wondering how you had disappeared the background and only showed the cheese sammich hovering in air like a UFO!

I make floaters by holding my finger on the image. A white line will incircle the center image and then a bar pops up where you chose where the new image is to be stored. This works on Apple products. I’ve done “floating cake” pics

I’ve got an Android but that must be what happened in my photo above, too. I just held my finger on the pic until the menu popped up and thought I selected Copy, but maybe it was a particular type of copy.

I select share, then save image

and it goes into my photo album, fun to play with! And a “ half” floater jam omelet, couldn’t capture just the omelet and clementines.

Good gawd I wish I could get my hands on those! Maybe if I travel to a big city like Seattle.

Saffron, Parmesan, mushroom risotto, nailed it today. Just a little bite to the rice grains and a last minute pat of butter added to the creaminess.

Dessert was an espresso orange custard, and a few slices of candied kumquat.

Taking Another One for the Team…

Diving into my Cataract Surgery (now scheduled for several months out) freezer stash again … I found I had another Rao’s dish - Four Cheese Ravioli with Marinara Sauce

I used the regular oven, not the microwave.

Verdict: Better than the lasagna. Marinara sauce was very tasty, as expected. Big portion for a frozen meal for one. But the pasta really cried out for salt, in spite of the fact that the entire dish had 880 mg of sodium. And I mean really really cried out for salt. My decision: better to buy fresh ravioli from TJs and have it on hand in the fridge for the Big Event.

Ask me how long those little Haagen Dazs single serves in the freezer are gonna last. Hint: I just disappeared one of them, because OF COURSE.

I use the paste (which I find at my local Japanese grocery store. Assuming your user name is accurate, you should find it at Tokyo Fish Market on San Pablo near Gilman)
