Yes… I love Arizona (and the desert) – I wish I had moved here 10 years earlier!!
Welcome back, hon!
- Los Angeles
- I am pretty passionate about food in general. Cookbooks, cooking, cooking classes, food related travel and restaurants.
- Recent years have brought many life events. The byproduct, I have prioritized checking some trips off my bucket list - eating my way through Provence , a cooking holiday in Italy, and a yoga cruise to Vietnam and Cambodia. Hoping to check a few more soon.
- When I am not hanging with my 3 dogs, you can probably find me with my head in a book (probably a cookbook), shopping for ingredients, participating in a cooking club (I am in 3), or planning a food related trip. I do have other interests and obligations but these are the ones that are relevant to this site. Really glad to have found my people again! I was an active Chowhounder and I have missed the discussions and the people. Those of you in LA, I would love to connect.
Good to see you here!
Welcome to HO!
Thank you!
my name is jerry, i am new in this platform.
hello Jerry & welcome!
Welcome aboard, Jerry! Where doing you live?
I’m betting Jerry lives inside a server…
I think you’re right
instead of onside a server?
I am not reading 1698 replies, but did all the moderators ever introduce themselves in the same way as @sck?
I think it would be fascinating for all of us to learn a few tidbits about our trusty helpers here
Going over my head, mate.
from a non-bot i would have expected “i am new on this platform.”
onside is just a play on inside - a server.
I guess it’s still valid.
Now you just have to talk the rest of your team into sharing a tidbit or two about themselves here as well
Thanks, appreciate the help. I hadn’t even noticed the in/on confusion in the botpost.
But that “my name is… I am new” with little else is fairly typical. So I googled the user name and saw it had opened lots of new accounts all around the same time, with the “my name is… I am new” type comment.
I’ve found the bots that show up here occasionally pretty easy to spot.

Where are you?
US east coast -
What food-related topic are you most passionate about, that you want people to ask you about and you can’t stop talking about it?
Probably ramen? -
What’s a great food experience you have had?
Pizza omakase at Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo. Overpriced yes, but I did get to try 8 different slices and talk to the chef about them. Unlikely to do it again unless with guests, but I did switch to ordering Diavola since then. -
A little tidbit about you
Volunteered at an aquarium before, but still can’t id fish to save my life. In fact it just made me more paranoid, since I heard that many fish are mislabeled in restaurants and markets.
