Let's introduce ourselves and get to know one another better

Have a great recovery! There’s a saying here. When appetite is there, everything goes well. (Quand l’appétit va, tout va)

Wishing you a speedy recovery Jimmy! I know those 1st few weeks are very painful but it gets better. Try and do some walking if possible. I had my back surgery just over three months ago and am doing much better. Luckily I didn’t lose my appetite after surgery. It helps that Mrs. P is such a good cook :slightly_smiling_face:

I saw Ely P’s response, as we both went through the same…You will come out better and hungry as we both did…but make sure you do your PT and your nourishment…it works!

@RedJim- wishing you a quick and complete recovery! Be patient with all, especially your appetite and palate! And try not to over do it on your first day of feeling well! These things just take time, but you’ll be up and at your stove before you know it. Take care and enjoy adding things to your make it list. - lambchop

Well @johntannerbbq. Any bbq tips to share?

johntannerbbq,

Hello and welcome to Hungry Onion!! (don’t worry we are not subject to the nation wide recall on red onions!!) I see you found the introduction page, thank you for sharing some background on yourself, look forward to reading and learning more!

(Just a FYI I was the moderator who edited your post. This is not something we would normally do, but since you made the second post acknowledging the errors I just cleaned it up for you. Don’t worry in the future we will leave mistakes alone, unless you specifically request a change. )

Welcome again!!! May I ask how you found us?

I googled “why has everyone left chowhound” and up you popped. I since have posted on chowhound about the hungry onion

At least 1 of their employees used to lurk on here. Let’s see how long your Hungry Onion * post on Chowhound * lasts.

( * Some of us here spell out names of the 2 sites on purpose so others can find this site when they use the search term you did to find us.)

Excellent! Well I certainly hope you enjoy your time here. We are much smaller in #'s than Chowhound, or at least the last time I was over there which admittedly has been over a year.

Welcome!

Welcome to Hungry Onion @johntannerbbq! You’ll find that folks here are passionate about a lot of different foods, and in my opinion we aim to be a kind, helpful, and respectful group. This is a fun—and sometimes funny—place to hang.

Looking forward to your posts.
