I’m a Kewpie fan too. However the US product does not contain MSG….unfortunately.
What?
Mine doesn’t.
Did you buy that in the states or smuggle it in?
Wait a cotton-picking minute! Your date timestamp is in Japanese Industrial Standard format. You did smuggle it, didn’t you? Didn’t you? Don’t make me get out my searing white hot spotlight and New York phone book!
You use a PHONE BOOK ??? No wonder.
Naah na nah na nah nah (sp?)
But seriously, mine says product of Japan, yours says of USA.
I got mine in a quasi Bay Area Nor Cal Asian market.
Another reason to move back to California.
Both from Irwindale, CA. So interesting to think about what they’ve decided to put on the packaging.
Yours says “distributed” by Q&B whereas mine says “manufactured” by them. I think you’re onto something.
I bought mine at a round-eye market. I will check the Asian market next time. Thanks for tip!
I liked when the yellow pages were delivered to the front porch. There was no internet back then and the yeller pages had lots of restaurant listings many with menus.
I wolfed it down like a starved dog, the second best read since the Sear’s Christmas catalog as a kid.
The toy section was virtually destroyed by my brother and myself.
Those were good times.
I paid for ads in our local yellow pages for years. I stopped a few years ago, and someone is still running my info along with colleagues that have moved or died. It just doesn’t work anymore.
My favorite as a kid was JC Penny’s…swimsuit section.
Salon: What exactly is duck sauce? The sticky history of the Chinese-American takeout staple.
Interesting article.
Unfortunately, there are a ton of false ingredients in these packets worldwide !
I am reminded of “Saucy Susan”
A couple of hilarious posts in that thread, from mschow and jfood.
Good times!
I’m in Boston, and I get the version that @shrinkrap gets too. In fact, it’s the only version I can find in the Asian markets (Chinese, Japanese or Korean). I didn’t realize there was a non-Japanese import version.

Oh my; that’s awesome! I see you’re down with the stocking up sickness too!
Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah!!
Sapori di Mari Colatura di Alici, my favorite condiment for Aglio y Olio spaghetti aside from a tin of anchovy in EVOO .and ons of garlic. I also love to drizzle them 1:3 ratio ( Colatura : EVOO ) on roasted vegetables, caesar salad etc… I hoard these in my pantry .
Ancient Romans developed a thick sauce made from anchovies fished from the surrounding Mediterranean. Today, the descendant of that original fish sauce is anchovy extract, made by straining anchovies and salt through boxes called terzigni. Sapori di Mare Colatura di Alici Anchovy Juice is a refined product with a smooth, amber color.
Read Lydia Bastianich’ s comment on these.
