How are you celebrating Fat Tuesday (2-21-2023)?

I made crepes for breakfast with lemon and sugar.

Was hoping to make a king cake (I have before, once, and have two plastic babies saved up) but unlikely this year. Maybe a gumbo later in the week. This is the one day that I really miss being in south Louisiana, where I was born and raised. I made crabmeat fried rice yesterday, which I first encountered there.

Pancakes for breakfast. Usually dessert but, hey, tradition only goes so far.

By ordering from the special menu at the gay bar my band’s been playing Mardi Gras for several years now

There’s oyster shooters, muffuletta, Cajun chicken and andouille sausage pot pie, BBQ shrimp po boys, Creole mac n cheese w/lobster and andouille sausage, and jumbo turtle cookies with vanilla ice cream and pecan praline sauce :yum:

Sounds delicious. I’d go for the pot pie or the poboy.
