The Peet’s is pre/ground so did not buy.

Hayward has Peet’s coffee too, also pre-ground.

Lots of Ben and Jerry’s last week and this week. I will try to find the picture.

anyone ever try that Fatworks beef tallow? That is a crazy good deal. You could make some great french fries with that.

Recently at the Grocery Outlet in Richmond, CA on San Pablo Ave.:

$4.99 Sabra Organic Basil and Pesto Hummus, 2 lb. tub

$4.99 Gordon Estate Columbia Valley Merlot 2014

tasted earthy with notes of rhubarb, unsweetened cocoa, dark cherry, a different kind of merlot which I liked. With some air, it’s better on the second day.

$4.99 Kronenbourg Blanc wheat beer,12 x 11.2 oz. cans., brewed in France. 12 cans of Kronenbourg for $4.99? How can that be? Well, the Best By date stamped on the bottom of the cans says “10/19” which as near as I can figure is October, 2019 which is fast approaching. Taste? Very floral, almost perfumey, but at about 42 cents a can I don’t really care what it tastes like, but I do like it, a lot. There better be some cases left when I take the long bus trip back to GO on Thursday to get some more or I’ll be very disappointed.

That’s a very good deal on the La Croix if you like that flavor. I think most of the SF stores are likely selling it for $2.99 or more :frowning:

I drank 2 cans of the La Croix earlier this morning while playing tennis and before the heat set in. It’s a subtle blend of cantaloupe and pink grapefruit without being sweet or cloying nor tangy, no aftertaste, mild bubbles. Nothing objectionable, appealing in a self-effacing way and I would not hesitate to buy another case.

Bayshore Blvd. SF
At $1.50 per box that’s 25 cents per bar.
Fifty cents for fudge covered Oreos! How could you not buy these!
OK the last one isn’t a food item but damn that’s a comfortable hammock for $7.99.

I’m in the East Bay and cycle through the Grocery Outlet stores in Alameda, in Oakland on Broadway at 29th Street and the Richmond store on San Pablo Avenue at Macdonald. I’ve consistently had better luck at the Richmond store which also has a wider wine and beer selection.

I’m also in the East Bay, and the Richmond store is the closest to me. What’s best at the Alameda and Oakland GOs?

Oakland GO - if you are going to really load up, Oakland has a 10% senior discount (for those 55 and over) in the mornings (8am - 12 pm) of the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. They have a large wine section and lots of craft beers. The manager will often greet shoppers on senior days and many of the employees have been with a GO for over 30 years. I think that it is one of the few stores actually owned by GO and not independently owned. The item they have that I rarely see elsewhere is Middle East Baking Carb Watch low carb Pita Bread for $1.79/5 pitas. Very dense, moist, chewy, not for everyone.

Alameda GO - a new store, well-laid out and a little spiffier than the others. Located near Webster St. which has several good restaurants and connects to Oakland Chinatown and Downtown via the Webster St. tube. A few real bargains on non-dairy milks in the refrigerated section which are nudging up to their Best By date. Some deals on cases of light beer. Also the lines are shorter.

Richmond CA GO - One of the owners worked for 13 years at the Oakland or Berkeley GO stores. I’m finding that Richmond is better stocked with super bargain highly rated wines and gourmet/organic canned and packaged goods, often carrying items that are long gone from the other stores. If I see Wild Planet Skinless Boneless Sardines in Olive Oil for 99 cents, I’ll buy several cases. They have more 2-for-1 deals and a better stock of grass-fed meat and dairy.

Thank you for the East Bay GO summaries! I miss the Berkeley Grocery Outlet, but it makes sense that the Richmond one has a similar flavor if it’s owned by an old employee.
