If the stocking’s big, add Rancho Gordo beans, N.40 Red Boat sauce, premium California walnuts, top shelf cocktail bitters.
Ha ha. We received a Sopressata in our stocking one year. It was welcome.
Something they’d pause at buying themselves:
Depending on price structure, a true Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale is a gift that keeps on giving.
Saffron.
Jamon Iberico.
I received a whole bone-in one last year. It was a lavish gift, but in retrospect, I would have preferred to receive smaller chunks or deli-sliced.
If anyone is tempted to buy the Costco joints of Iberico, I urge them to: (a) share it immediately; or (b) completely bone it out and freeze whatever is not immediately used. Do NOT believe the pap about it not needing refrigeration. Left on the bone, the fat will go rancid, even when covered with an oil-soaked cloth and wiped regularly.
Yes, I definitely meant a much smaller portion than a whole joint!
Jamon Iberico is a stocking stuffer?! What do you give as the main gift - a Mercedes?!

I got Rancho Gordo beans in my stocking once and it was very exciting!
While it’s not the best way to enjoy it, there are small sealed packages of Jamon Iberico for purchase. Of course I didn’t mean the whole joint.
My husband and I largely do food stocking stuffers, so I’ve been following this thread with interest. Lots of good ideas so far. As I mentioned above - Rancho Gordo beans were fun. A few other thoughts:
This curry paste

Fun sprinkles if the person is a baker (I am)
Interesting nut butters (these are delicious)
These jams have been on my list to try
My husband is into fancy tuna lately so I put that in his stocking last year.
I will keep thinking about some favorites from years past!
Great ideas! I think fancy tuna and dried mushrooms will be making their way onto my list this year. The discussion of chopsticks also reminded me of these skewers - I have a set and have gifted them as well, and everyone loves them. The little sliding disc is genius!

Those look great! My PIC’s huge on souvlaki, but getting meat off is always such a pain. Might get a set of those!
Nice idea on curry paste - a small can of this would be an easy fit, but also a variety pack might be interesting. They are also vegetarian, which is rare.
A tube of harissa or chipotle paste are also useful / fun.
Makes me wonder why nobody thought of the food remover disc before. Definitely looks like a worthwhile item to add to my stocking stuffer list. Thanks for the info!
A ThermaPen would nicely fit into a stocking for those looking for an appropriately sized gift. Again, depending on your price point for the stocking stuffers.
They have great products, too! Baharat was one of the spices I got in my stocking a few years ago and am now hooked on it!
I have a question, though – don’t the disks get too hot to handle on the grill to be pushing them down?
I picked up one of these at the local Asian grocer and it has been indispensable. If you have a grocer nearby that carries these, you should be able to pick one up for under $4. I was really surprised they are that expensive on Amazon. Anyway, good stocking stuffer on all counts.
One year I bought a multi-pack of colorful Opinel paring knives (France) and gave everyone one along with a plastic knife sleeve.
I frequently receive random small-sized food gifts, and almost never like them.
They do, when the kebabs are right off the grill. Howver, as long as they aren’t touching the meat, they cool off pretty quickly. It’s also easy to hook a fork behind the disc and use that to push (or pull) if it’s too hot for fingers.
