Don’t know if this is local or not, because MILA is a Seattle company. But the Costcos in western WA sell their xlb in the freezer.
I gave the gift of frozen seafood.
I sent a fruitcake from this Monastery in the Ozarks.
Just received the navel oranges that I ordered for my husband from Pearson Ranch in California. My husband said they’re the best he’s ever had, and we live in California. Customer service and packaging were great. I’d highly recommend them.
Good to know. I’ll keep them in mind for a future gift!
I sent this Green’s Bakery box of sweets to some friends who keep Kosher.

And I splurged on these Chile Rellenos for ourselves.

I sent some more fruitcakes out today. This bakery is in Red Deer, AB.
A couple relatives will receive grazing boxes.
With the Canada Post strike continuing, a lot of couriers are overwhelmed.
I’m trying to find something to send a cousin located halfway between Regina and Moose Jaw.
It might be a gift card, at this rate. I want to send him cheese or meat, rather than something sweet.
I brought our family the gift of Maritime seafood.
Here are the fruitcakes made in Red Deer, AB, that arrived today.
This is one of the grazing boxes prepared by The Prairie Grazer in Saskatoon.
SIL sent us a Chicago Dog kit. We had one for lunch today. Came with everything but the onion, dill pickle and tomato. I omitted the hot pepper and removed the tomato. They were good, especially the rolls. But probably not something to reorder.
Food adjacent gift, from Veseys, a seed, bulb and tree supplier in PEI.
I admit, most of these are gifts for me! The parsnips I grow will be a gift for someone else.
I purchased a custom box of Greek sweets and delicacies from Anthos in Pittsburgh. Free ground shipping for purchases over $100 USD
I purchased a bunch of frozen seafood through Larry’s Catch, based in Nova Scotia. They have some custom boxes. I decided to choose specific items instead.
For family outside of New England … okay, particularly my mother-in-law who has an enormous sweet tooth and is probably the one keeping circus peanuts in business … we go with Wicked Whoopies a lot. Same whoopie pies they sell in the supermarkets, but the variety of flavors makes it good for a gift for families with kids (or my mother-in-law).
My aunts in the south likewise appreciate gift baskets of maple products—these days there are a lot of infused or barrel-aged maple syrups like Runamok, though I make sure there’s always one unadulterated syrup in the mix. My father-in-law, the griller, also appreciates smoked maple syrup.
But Goldbelly is definitely a standby. I think for gifts, the one we’ve had the most enthusiastic responses to has been Georgetown Cupcakes.
Ohhh, and I see Sofra is shipping again. Their cookies were a big hit.
I personally love Lady M’s crepe cakes, but have discovered not everyone is into crepe cakes (I guess in part because they’re not “really cake”), so we only do that for in-house gifts now, i.e. my wife’s birthday, our anniversary, et cet.
Neuski’s for great meats, especially the corned beef hash!
I just wish they didn’t send us seemingly a million brochures every year. It’s not like one can’t visit the website, nor that they add a lot of new products.
Their smoked duck breasts, however, are amazeballz.
$100 (incl shipping) for 2 dozen cookies. I feel a little guilty that I still bought them … for us, and sent cheaper cookies to friends (cheaper still when you factor in the Goldbelly points and so on). My excuse is that Mrs C will be here for Christmas this year, so I’m spending a little more on treats, but really it’s just that we miss the earthquake cookies she used to bring home when she worked in Boston.
Just split an order for 6 breasts with our friends, since the more you order, the cheaper it gets. Honey found me a discount of around $15, and including shipping each couple only pays $57 for 3 breasts ![]()
BOOM.
I sent 2 gift boxes of items I chose, from Anthos in Pittsburgh, to friends in the States.
Orders over $100 have shipping included.
I sent Greek olive oil, sour cherry spoon sweets, Greek oregano, melomakarona, and kourabiedes to one friend.
I sent 2 types of Greek olive oil, Greek bay leaves, kourabiedes and some other stuff to the other friend.
