Welcome to the nominating thread for our next BCOTM. What books would you like to bake from together this autumn?
You many nominate as many books as you wish. In order to nominate, please put the name of the book in ALL CAPS in the comments below. Only titles in all caps will be counted as nominations. (If you’re discussing a book, but not nominating, please use regular capitalization for clarity.) Please nominate with the intention of joining us in cooking from the book and reporting on the di your bakes, should your nominee be selected.
Nominations will end FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 at 11 PM GMT/7 PM EDT/4 PM PDT.
Here are the books we’ve previously done (keep on adding to them with your baking experiences!):
Eek, I didn’t hear about that. I got back very early in the morning, and everything seemed ok. I was definitely nervous about flying out Friday morning but it all went smoothly; there was a lull in the storm.
Do you know if any of the Five Minutes a Day baking cookbooks give weight measurements, or are there only volume measurements? I switched to weights for baking years ago and can’t go back!
I just took a look at one of them, New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes, and the ingredients are all listed in a grid with volume and US and metric weights for each.
I think the idea is that those of us who do have access will be happy to share gift links to desired recipes (quoting loosely from the COTM thread). I typically have more than I need to use, and will happily provide. Others have indicated likewise. Also, there is always the book, which has been out long enough to be available through the library.
Not perfect, but workable if enough people are interested.
Yes, I will always be happy to post gift links from NYT. I won’t nominate or vote because I can’t promise to be an active participant. I will join in whatever is chosen when I am able. I read the posts and can post NYT gift links even if I can’t cook along.
