Falcone, Lincroft

Anjelica’s has competition for the best BYOB Italian in Monmouth County. Very fancy room, very fancy menu. Here is a bad picture of the best lamb chops I’ve ever had.

There is fighting words! Have you ever had the lamb chops at Aarzu? Those are the best I’VE ever had!

Now I have to go!

We enjoyed a sensational dinner at Falcone. It was well worth the 2 hour round trip drive. What a beautiful setting in an old church! Thanks for the recommendation @coldbeer70 !
Besides the excellent lamb chops, we enjoyed a whole branzino, excellent calamari oreganata with a nice sweet and spicy sauce, that had a nice kick to it; clams oreganata; agnolotti with sweet corn and ricotta filling, grand marnier, grana padano and sage. We took home some cannoli for dessert. It all went great with an excellent cabernet and Malbec.

Excellent! Glad you enjoyed it. Will be back there in a couple of weeks and looking forward to it.

I had no idea this was a former church because I remember it as a Chinese/Thai restaurant (Eastern Empire) where I didn’t see any hint of the church. Here’s a link to a picture of the former location.: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/623-Newman-Springs-Rd-Lincroft-NJ/4198411/

They've done some major remodeling!

They did a magnificent job remodeling.

Thanks again for the recommendation! It’s well worth the 2 hour round trip. It checked all of the boxes (beautiful dining room and ambience; friendly and attentive non rushed service; excellent food).
We can’t wait to go back. I just have to find a way to fit it into my tight restaurant rotation. I will probably have to drop one restaurant from our monthly rotation.

We loved Eastern Empire! I recently saw it on my Contacts list. It made me wistful for their pad Thai.

I guess I’m getting old. I remember when it was King Wok. I would get wonton soup and a pint of plain lo mein for lunch and it was 5 bucks. There is also Emperor Wok on Shrewbury Ave and I used to wonder(because I’m weird) if an Emperor was above a king…

Wow. No pictures and no notes! We had a fabulous dinner tonight. Baked clams and then a short rib pasta with papperdelle and cavatelli and broccoli rabe with sun dried tomatoes. Excellent. Service was perfect. Even valet (which generally my husband strongly dislikes) was efficient, friendly and super fast. I can now see why it took me forever to get a reservation!

Isn’t it a great restaurant? The food, service, and ambience are amazing. I feel the same way about valet parking, and was also really impressed with the speed that they retrieved our car. We usually have to wait forever to get our car back, and the valet drivers couldn’t care less, but not here.

We were actually supposed to go tonight, but had to cancel because Mrs. P has been suffering from a horrible sinus and ear infection all week. We have to try and get there next month. It’s worth the 2 hour round trip.

So. Good!!! I can’t wait to go back. Hope Mrs. P feels better soon. We were all sick 2 weeks ago and it’s taking it’s sweet time fully clearing up.

Thanks! She’s been sick for 2 weeks now, and just went back to Urgent Care. I was sick for a couple of days. I hope your family can shake it off.
