Yep… jars of garlic and ginger are in our fridge too. I got three bulbs/heads of garlic in a produce box a while back and I’m not sure I will ever use them!

I learned a while ago to use cream cheese - melt it in a saucepan, add shredded cheddar. Thin with milk or cream if needed.

Co-signing the Goya sofrito - we use it as a base for mild chili or, as the resident little guys call it, “special beans.”

We also like the Trader Joes chimichurri rice as a base for a one bowl dinner - we add extra veggies and shrimp plus cheese.

^ Great line. Though there was a bot post—now removed—on an Amalfi thread that shifted to an insulting tone when challenged. As if the world weren’t filled with enough unpleasantness already. And it wastes our time to boot. Ugh.

It also invents things. I asked Chat GPT to identify a book I had a vague recollection of reading as a teen, and it made up a plausible but nonexistent book. The author was real, and there was a book by the title Chat GPT came up with, but the author had not written that book.
