Note that Salvadorean sour cream contains salt. Noticeably.
Consider “table cream” by the same people who make Mexican and Salvadorean creams. Not quite sweet cream yet not quite creme fraiche. An interesting and useful product.

Yes! I drizzled some Mi Tienda table cream over charcoal grilled jerk chicken thighs last night. It tasted great and cut the heat, making my wife happy.

This comment may be out of place, but we use TJs European style yogurt (red tub) as a crème substitute in some applications as it still has full milk fat and lots of tang but not overly rich.

I think itis very much in place. I often do the same, although not TJ’s. A bit stirred into a meat and tomato sauce for pasta is delicious…
