Who would have thought that frankincense and myrrh would appear on a menu?!

Making a mental note to not purchase these cookbooks.

I’ve had the dish at Alinea and own the cookbook, but have never attempted to recreate the dish at home.

I bet nice pictures though

Why anyone thinks those are cookbooks? They are great art photo coffee table books to show off.

PHEASANT - green grape, walnut, burning leaves

A little different that what’s in the cookbook but same basic concept. It was kinda dark in the dining room and I didn’t want to disturb others by using a flash so the pictures are a little fuzzy.

oh good lord. That is the most ridiculously pretentious excuse for presentation I’ve ever seen, and I would have been sorely tempted to send it back and walk out.

(to the chef) You went out to somebody’s yard, picked up a dead stick, and jammed it into my (little bitty piece of) food, dropped it into a scalp massager, and called it food? Pardon me while I call it loopy.
