Commercially made foods that are no longer made

Someone has tried to diy that cookie. See this article (I have not tried to make them yet). www.npr.org/2023/07/14/1187468958/famous-chocolate-wafers-are-no-more-but-the-icebox-cake-lives-on

I have seen the chocolate wafers, larger in size and in bulk, at Stutzman’s Country Market in St. Ignatius, MT in the past. There are a plethora of recipes online and I think King Arthur sells the special black chocolate. All is not lost!

Maybe in a pinch, one could scrape the filling out of a whole bunch of Oreos. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The Thai tomato lemongrass in the tetrapak was pretty good.

I kinda miss Tab. I may be the only one, but I enjoyed that weird metallic twang

The mind boggles.

It had quite a following. Perhaps not a wise decision to discontinue it. And that iconic lettering.

Wheatsworth, I grew up with Trader Joes version which disappeared years ago. Probably made by same factory. I miss them too.

Collard & Bowser’s Licorice Toffee. It was soooo good. Haven’t found a substitute.

and @threedogs - Callard & Bowser used to be my favorite candy. I loved the John Cleese radio ads too.

I never heard this ad (or at least this old brain doesn’t remember). The ad is hilarious! (I’d skip the liver, etc flavors, lol). I love John Cleese!

I’m not sure, but I think the caffeine count in Tab was really high.

I have a memory of eating a Pepperidge Farm cookie that was sort of like an Oreo, but the cookies were hard with nuts and the cream was softer and really good. I think it was called the brownie - it was my favorite Pepperidge Farm cookie as a kid. But I can’t find anything on the internet that it ever existed. Does anyone remember this cookie?

I’ve tried 2 dif recipes, one was rolled the other sliced. Neither impressed me.
My sister & I are sure there was a vague hint of coconut but I’ve checked the box ingredients and no coconut but there are ‘flavorings’ at the end. Maybe just a dash of coconut extract would do it.

I do! Don’t remember the name, but I agree that they were very tasty.

They are just too cute

Thank God! I was starting to think I imagined the whole thing,

Good Humor Candy Center Crunch Ice Cream Bar - the center was really low quality chocolate but I still loved these.

I remember getting these from the ice cream truck at the beach when I was a kid, they were my favorites.
