Cheeseburgers.....the official NJ burger thread

I’ll be honest with you I think the PR person that came up with the name has done the brand a HUGE disservice. I know the location you are referring to and I had never stepped foot in the place, why? Because what the hell is a Fuddrucker? lol I had no idea and I didn’t care to find out.

Having experienced the brand I have a hard time finding fault with them. I’ve only eaten at this Parsiappany location twice, this past Monday and a couple years ago while again attending continuing education classes. I have no problem with the place and would certainly go back. The only “issue” I have and I didn’t understand was I could only get the American Kobe burger in 1/2 pound, while they offer their other burgers up to 1lbs.

You need to watch Idiocracy.

For the record I think Fuddruckers puts out a pretty decent product, abeit slightly on the pricey side for fast food burgers. But I’ve never left the place unhappy. At least that I remember. Their fixins bar is pretty cool.

Had lunch at Frankie’s again, just gotta say that is one of the best burgers in our area.

Frankies in PP? I had an excellent reuben there a week ago. Solid place…not many places you can go to on a Thurs. night off season and they still have a small wait.

Yep. Frankie’s PPB. The California with Cheddar and a side of Onion Rings. Their Onion Rings are large and crispy, I make a little dipping sauce with ketchup and Cholula. 10 oz. burger was perfect rare with warm center.

I was with a friend so no photos but everything was homemade and awesome. Fries are hand cut too.

I’ve been on a burger kick lately, but this was definitely the standout of the week.

We were discussing the long lives of the various “burger behind the bar” joints along the Shore. From Frankie’s to Barnacle Bills, Harpoon Willy’s, Broadway, Pour House, McCann’s, etc. These places have all prospered for decades on draft beer and bartenders grilling beef.

This could be an significant exception to the Monmouth singularity, ie:

Liquor License + Mediocre Food = "Successful Restaurant

except when

Bartender Grilling + Tap Beer + 10 oz = Great Burger !

I think you have made an important contribution to both theoretical mathematics and our knowledge and understanding of the Universe of Monmouth Restaurants.

Not JR has also made an important contribution in the Stella Marina thread. At the center of the Asbury Park System there is apparently a Super Massive Black Hole.

And no, that is not a racist statement.

Speaking of long lives, z man is “shades” still chilling at leggetts? He is the postal worker guy that wears the aviator shades at all hours of the day and night. I’m sure you’ve seen him or perhaps have had a drink with him.

There’s a Checkers in Howell on Rt. 9 South…

Gotta chime in for my favorite burger (at the moment).

I’ve had it twice now. The first time they forgot the bacon, but I was 3/4 of the way through before I even noticed.

Marlboro Diner (Rt. 9 South, adjacent to the Motor Lodge). “Boss Lady” Burger. Yeah, weird name, but I like it.

I think it’s a half pound patty, and they WILL cook it rare. Topped with sliced avocado, cheddar cheese, bacon, and a side of Russian Dressing. (Diner is owned by Greeks).

I order it Deluxe, so it comes with lettuce and tomato as well. Fries are the best I’ve ever had… crispy on the outside, tender on the inside… just the right amount of crunch. They don’t need salt, but they’re not those “seasoned” fries.

All this for $8.99. Or the burger by itself for $6.99. I get that with an iced coffee ($2.00 and free refills), and I’m good to go.

Sounds good Art. We need some more burger porn pics in this thread! .

Yes, Please !!!

Big luscious juicy round dripping with grease cheesy burger porn.

And lots of it.

Amys tonight. This burger was cooked rare and oozing juice as I ordered it. I liked it. The cherry pepper acidity and pepper jack melded well with the ample crispy bacon. It was not a mind blowing experience but the 10.95 offering was decent and quite a helping. I liked the fact that you get a half pickle, slaw, 3 nicely fried rings and a healthy serving of fries (although not great but ok) without getting nickeled and dimed.

There is some lettuce and tomato behind that bun as well. Overall it’s a decent burger, but I’m partial to the barnacles cheddar burger.

If I can make a suggestion, I think this deserves a separate post with title.

I like the idea of onion rings and fries. More places should do that.

Fuck those bullshit coated fries. I really do try not to hate on food but that is garbage. Just say no to coated fries!!

Johnny, next time you’re in ap try the burger and fries at Kim Marie’s. I’d recommend going bacon cheddar and getting it mr rather than rare. It might be my favorite local burger + fry combo right now.

If you want to try something offbeat the burger at mogo is pretty awesome too. Love all these burger posts!

I’ll have to try it buddy. I agree that fries are better not coated. However, fries scalding out of the oil is like getting laid. Even if pretty bad it’s still enjoyable

I’d urge some of you Monmouth county guys to try the beach tavern for happy hour. The fried shrimp are 8 bucks and come with great fries. They resemble McDonald’s but don’t quite have the “charisma” of micky d fries. I really enjoy them. For 8 bucks this spot rocks and you get a good sunset. I think happy hour ends at 6.

Yeah I really like the fact that this place does fries, rings, slaw and a pickle…good stuff. Again, it wasnt great for 11 bucks, but I liked this burger platter. There are better deals elsewhere, and more expensive options, but the value here was ok. I like to eat a burger off the beaten path somtimes. This one with the cherry peppers was interesting.
