Where are all the new hip Rhode I spots? Not a single
Post about RI?
Here’s a few to start you off, but if you have specific questions, this is the right board to ask ![]()
Welcome to HO. Why not tell us about your favorites, and what you enjoy eating there?
Certainly.
I love sushi.
Had great experiences at Nami and Jacky’s waterfront …
Love Medeterrian. Damascus Grill in Cranston was nice…
Umm… Indian is good I want to try Kinnera in Lincoln curious if anyone tried that …
Love breweries that serve food had a good experience recently at buttonwoods. Malted Barley has yummy pretzels. That’s about it for now … always curious about new spots popping out I haven’t tried yet!
Welcome!
Unfortunately it seems that Foodies in RI appear to have not discovered Hungry Onion, as almost all of the comments about eating there come from out-of-staters
Same issue with Philly Phoodies, which is a damn shame. Such a good eating town.
Thanks!
Hmm I can change that maybe I can lure them from a Facebook group
New Yorker here, but I’ve liked:
Dune Brothers in Providence for its beef tallow-fried fish. Last time I was there a special of fried butter fish was outstanding.
Irregardless for a fried chicken biscuit.
Pizza Marvin for expensive but well worth it pizza. Tasty cocktails, too.
Scialo Bros for zuppa inglese and pizza sticks. (Gorgeous, old-school Italian bakery.)
Anthony’s Seafood in Middletown for some of the best fried seafood anywhere. Kung pao calamari was insanely good.
I will chime in soon. Too much schtuff going on.
Saint Martha in Warren. Great space, inventive food, really well made cocktails and thoughtful wine list. Well worth a visit, be sure to make a res.
BTW - Saint Martha is the patron saint of hospitality. The sister of Lazarus, her statue presides over the bar.
I second Pizza Marvin. Expensive but delish and good selection of natural wines to boot when I was there.
Some of our favorites in RI:
Providence area: Los Andes, Gracie’s, C.H.O.P. (for lunch /in the Providence library), Brasa y Chifa (take out), Dune Brothers, Avenue N
Warren: Square Peg, Metacom Kitchen, Revival, Blount Seafood, Rhody Roots, Chomp (burgers on the water), and Stingy Alley for cocktails and light snacks
Barrington: Tong D
Don’t sleep on Aleppo Sweets either, which nobody has mentioned yet. Pretty sure they were James Beard nominated a few years ago
Welcome to the board!
Thank you!
Thanks! I wanted to try Rhody Roots
