Unfortunately it seems that Foodies in RI appear to have not discovered Hungry Onion, as almost all of the comments about eating there come from out-of-staters

Same issue with Philly Phoodies, which is a damn shame. Such a good eating town.

Hmm I can change that maybe I can lure them from a Facebook group

New Yorker here, but I’ve liked:

Dune Brothers in Providence for its beef tallow-fried fish. Last time I was there a special of fried butter fish was outstanding.

Irregardless for a fried chicken biscuit.

Pizza Marvin for expensive but well worth it pizza. Tasty cocktails, too.

Scialo Bros for zuppa inglese and pizza sticks. (Gorgeous, old-school Italian bakery.)

Anthony’s Seafood in Middletown for some of the best fried seafood anywhere. Kung pao calamari was insanely good.

Saint Martha in Warren. Great space, inventive food, really well made cocktails and thoughtful wine list. Well worth a visit, be sure to make a res.

BTW - Saint Martha is the patron saint of hospitality. The sister of Lazarus, her statue presides over the bar.

I second Pizza Marvin. Expensive but delish and good selection of natural wines to boot when I was there.

Don’t sleep on Aleppo Sweets either, which nobody has mentioned yet. Pretty sure they were James Beard nominated a few years ago
