Buddahs hand aka citron for Easter Grain pie

A few years ago I found Buddahs Hand at the local Fairway. Fairway is no more like that. A shell of its former self.
I doubt very much I’ll see it again in a NY produce dept, unless I find a really good Asian market.
Maybe H-Mart in Oct/Nov.
In the meantime, is there any decent source for candied citron that doesn’t have a bunch of yech in it?

Have you look at citron tea jellies?

have not heard of them. but I’d guess that is more a spread than individual pieces like one used in grain pie. I’m looking for something like candied orange zest

I’ve seen Buddha’s Hand at Whole Foods and Union Market, but not sure if it’s seasonal.

quite seasonal. but I’ll have to check there come Oct/Nov. Thanks,

I have always used Agrimontana Candied Citron (and other candied Fruit/Peel) Products.
It was in a Restaurant so I was able to source from wholesale Suppliers.
You may be able to get it retail on line.
I think it had only Sugar and Glucose Syrup in it.

thanks. hard to find retail, but I think I can get it at Kalustyans Manhattan.

I found this one online.

Nutritional Info says 0 for total sugars….that surprised me.

clearly an error!

those look good, though I can’t tell if licorice flavor is infused or that’s what they think it tastes like. dunno that licorice would go with grain pie.
The US link for those interested.

I found this all pretty interesting: https://citrusvariety.ucr.edu/crc3768

Especially about how it’s difficult to prepare for commercial sale.
