The vanilla is super overpriced there anyway; even with the 44% off it would be a terrible deal; prices have come way down in the past couple of years. Not sure about the saffron. (I’m generally a fan of a lot of their other stuff but a little bit of shopping around is a good idea for certain items!)

I don’t know - I still think the 44% would be a great deal, IMO, IF they allowed it on their vanilla.

A 4 oz Penzeys single strength is regularly $34.95; 44% would bring it down to $19.57. If I get vanilla from Penzeys, I usually buy their double-strength (although I don’t buy vanilla that often). That would be brought down to $29.51. You can get Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla at World Market for $24.99 and $24.95 at Williams-Sonoma (and I do love their vanilla paste). Haven’t checked the N-M price at my local supermarkets. Will have to do that this weekend, just for knowledge sake.

As for saffron - I use SO little of that, I ended up getting 2.0 grams of Zaran saffron for $14.95 on Amazon back in January 2023 (it’s now $16.95). It’ll last me until I go into a nursing home. :wink: Penzeys 1 gram jar of Spanish Coupe saffron is $25.49, and their Afghan saffron is $26.95.

So yeah, vanilla and saffron are more expensive at Penzeys. But their herb/spices and their blends are always good, IMO. And 44% off if you need to stock up? Can’t beat it.

You missed a 1 in that discounted price.
34.95 * 0.56 = 19.57

I get my vanilla from this place. 4oz, $9. Even less if you buy in bulk. Or even better, buy some of their beans, get yourself some overproof rum, and make your own triple-strength extract. Vanilla extract is just crazy overpriced from all of these spice companies.

Thanks, fixed it in my post. And that’s a great price on the vanilla. Will check out whenever I use up what I have now!
