Anyone else attempting to stick to a regimen right now?

Something with Fabio as the protagonist?

Fabio from Top Chef?

I know you don’t mean some romance thing. :face_vomiting:

Right now I am reading “All The Sinners Bleed”, by S.A. Cosby.

I agree with your idea of a summer read, shrinkrap. Probably why I liked John Grisham and Clive Cussler for a couple years.
I read much more intellectual, challenging books now. LOL!
To be honest, I just moved on to lesser known light reading. I started The Hot Country by Robert Olen Butler. I have high hopes!

Just reserved it at the library. Thank you.

I once had a surreal experience while dining at a small Italian restaurant. It appeared to be the usual patron demographic–mostly het couples, but all the women seemed distracted. Necks were craned, meus and glassware were peered over, food wasn’t being touched. Even Wahine was doing it. Male companions looked confused, just like I felt.

I wasn’t impervious to Wahine’s glance-gesturing, I just didn’t grasp that her target (and of all the women of a certain age) was this equine-looking man I later learned was

Fabio.

Overall, the weird level of discomfort in the room was 11/10. No one knew what to do, even the servers. Thankfully, the Fab soon left.

I was gobsmacked by this petrifying celebrity worship. I mean, I’d been in the presence of some huge celebrities before, but this guy stops time?

I had no idea…

Equine?
Is this a batch of jealousy masked as snark?

MANY years ago we were in the Wall Street waldenbooks (remember that chain) and saw an enormous line of women. There he was, with his mane of hair doing a booksigning. In those days i think he was on the cover of every romance novel. Never read one, but it was hard to ignore the phenomenon!

I think it’s the hair, tbh:

I still have a full mane of locks at almost 72 and right now that’s my proudest achievement.
Kids and all are imprortant, but nothing compares to hair.
The Mister Clean look is outside my comfort zone.

:face_with_hand_over_mouth: ETA Is there a way to make images smaller? That was supposed to be an eye roll.

I have seen a commercial lately that seems to be spoofing the “sweeping mane” image. A bunch of folks working high up on the outside of a building. They keep saying "you don’t know about???. I can’t recall what they thought I should know about. Other than that spoof, I can’t figure out the point of the commercial!

Better?

Yes! How did you do that?

I think I have seen options when I am in my laptop, but not on my phone.

Perhaps they were all wondering if he’d order the goose:

Yeah, that I could tell. Small place.

If it is more PC, some guys may have also stared lustfully, but I doubt they were reading the books with Fab on the cover.

Aber nein, Fraulein.

You don’t think Fabio looks like a horse?

I just remembered this thread.

At the beginning of August and for 28 days I got all of my calories in a 3-hour window, usually from 6-9pm or from 7-10pm.

Basically an “OMAD” style diet like @Desert-Dan mentions, except it’s 1 meal plus my usual drinks before and after dinner. This is Mon-Sat, and on Sunday my eating window is 5-6 hours, usually ~ 2pm - 7 or 8pm so that I can have a late lunch that day with my wife in addition to our dinner.

I dropped 23 pounds during that time. But I was (and still am) considerably overweight; note that a larger weight loss is easier when one has a lot to lose. Plus a lot of that weight would have been water, glycogen (I seem to hold lots of it if I’m eating a lot of carbs and not exercising hard), and the water associated with all of that glycogen.

I took a break last week after the 28th day (kids coming home for the US LD weekend), and plan to start another 28 day stint soon, probably on Monday.

Congrats!! Way to go!!

Yes… My body is pretty much adjusted to one meal a day. Of course, I have my morning coffee (non-negotiable). If I get really hungry during the day, I’ll have a raw carrot or some celery, but I do try to stick to just eating dinner.

Wow! Amazing! Well done.

Thank you (also thank you to @PedroPero). We’ll see what the upcoming 28 days bring. The funny thing is, after more than a week’s “break” (usually 2 meals a day), I’m still a pound lower than on the prior day 28. So, basically the same - no loss or gain.

I do drink tea and water throughout the day. My “go to” if I’m feeling some mid afternoon hunger pangs is to boil some torn up bay leaves and dry thyme in water salted at about 1%, drain, and sip it hot.

It’s essentially a “cooking herb broth”. It works very well because with the salt in it, my brain would never think “Hey now, this would be better if sweetened” the way it sometimes happens with black coffee and plain tea.

I’m trying not to eat anything after 8pm, and before 11-ish am. Seems to help with the weight loss or at least not gain any
