2026 costco yay/nay/meh

They get a meh from me. I love the flavor, but when I got them home, they were all frozen into a single mass that did not break up easily without tearing the skins.

Popular at my house, but I do order online from them directly. Cost about the same and not issues
with dumplings More selection too.

When you have a wide ass, you appreciate the extra width!

I had to go to Costco yesterday afternoon, a Sunday, because of conflicts during this week. The parking lot was nearly full, but I got a space in the far corner. What struck me was all the children there. Milling around the aisles, darting between other shoppers’ carts, and grabbing all the samples before I could get to them. Humbug.

I can confirm the worst, Alhambra, Marina Del Rey. The Honolulu Costco is the busiest in the world.

I just never go on weekends.

If you went to the Richmond location on a Sunday, you’re braver than I!

Sheng Wang has great reflection on Costco - bits on YouTube; comedy special, Sweet and Juicy , on Netflix. Spot on and hilarious..

I too have used Kirkland TP for decades, because you can’t beat the value. My home also tends to be a gathering spot for the family and sibs, because it’s most central so the toilets get exceptionally high traffic. But I did finally try to the Kirkland Ultra TP and I have made the switch. A bit more expensive, but not as expensive as the CB brand, but definitely stronger. I’ve never experienced the excess linty ness some have complained of the regular TP, but the Ultra is definitely not linty. I will indulge in the CB brand when they have sales.

I haven’t tried the Kirkland TP (wife is spoiled by Quilted Northern), but a YAY for the Kirkland paper towels. Big rolls and sturdy towels.

Cripes, I have a membership on the worst list. Only got it to have my hearing checked but haven’t summoned up the guts to walk in.

They have excellent prices on hearing aids.

You usually need to schedule an appointment for that.

Go during a weekday afternoon. Tuesday around 2 pm is the slowest time according to management. The hearing aid department is very good.

We’re #1! We’re #1! The Sunset Park one is indeed very unpleasant.

As an executive member, I shop an hour before regular opening time.

Are you in midtown?
What do you think of making the urban KC one a business center?
My chef/foodie friends are mightily POed

Yeah, I time my visits to get in and out before the Unwashed Masses gain access. At one of the locations near me, they’ll queue up in front of the door starting about 9:45am, effectively logjamming it for Executive Members.

I have an executive card. Never use the early option.

Seems like a poor decision to me. There can’t be more demand for business services than member services in that area so it’s hard to understand the reasoning. The nearest alternate locations are 30 minutes away from there, and one of those is in Kansas so no booze. It does seem like a done deal at this point.

Just a funny little anecdote related to your post. We buy TP and also cheezits at Costco. My older child loves Cheez-Its and goes through them quite quickly, but I won’t buy them for him at the grocery store because it’s much more expensive there. So he was last heard saying that the next time we go to Costco he’s gonna have to buy enough Cheez-Its to last us until the toilet paper runs out. Because that’s almost always what triggers the next round of shopping at Costco. Lol.
