I saw it locally at the Danvers location. It’s $20.99 there.
BTW did you know that you can search the stock at a specific warehouse in the Costco phone app? That’s how I just checked the price. Been really useful especially for buying wine; I like to carefully research my wine purchases and doing that in the middle of the store is obviously tough. So now I just research in advance and then grab whatever I come up with.
I don’t use their phone app. In general, I’m anti-store app, unless it’s a place I frequent regularly and/or there are rewards or a significant convenience factor to the app. Is this in the freezer, or is it where all the meatballs, and other prepared/packaged refrigerated section?
Dedham usually, but every once in while we go to Stoughton. Car-less, so I’m at the whim of my sister and where she wants to go. I do delivery of big bulky items like paper towels and TP - really cuts down on overloading the car.
No big loss. Yesterday I called a nearby Costco and they told me that they did have a snack item in stock. Haven’t had a chance to stop by yet but, after reading this post, I checked the app. It doesn’t show the item at all. Could be the app doesn’t cover all types of products, or that it sold out in one day.
Sorry to hear that; I’ll be joining you soon. The moment my iPhone dies I’m going back to Android. (Thinking Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.) One and done with Apple’s overpriced garbage, which I only migrated to thanks to a Verizon promo.
Alright, not sure if this is specific to the Lunar New Year, but I did succumb to these panda buns just because they are so cute. They are custard flavored. These are fairly small - about half of my palm, so better suited as snacks for sure. As a custard bun ( 奶黄包), not too sweet! Custard was creamy and good bun to filling ratio. The eyes and face are just brown colored bun dough. Thumbs up if you like custard buns!
I haven’t found a good frozen lava bun. Most of the ones I’ve tried, the filling is either too oily, too firm/gel-like, and/or they don’t taste that good. They need to get to work on that.
You can get good frozen custard buns (salted egg yolk) from golden steamer, 12-15 in your steamer. My wife has requested I feed her these on her death bed.
I’m going to yay Costco’s Kirkland terlet paper. For many many years, we’ve used Kirkland branded toilet paper exclusively at the ricepad pad and been very happy with it. We noticed, however, that the quality of the paper seemed to slide: it seemed to be thinner, not as strong or soft, tore along the the perforations randomly, and seemed to leave a lot on the cardboard tube when you got to the bitter end. In the last few months, however, we’ve noticed that it’s stronger, softer, tears cleanly along the perforations, and comes right off the tube when you get to the end. I think the pressures of demand reduced the quality during the pandemic, and it’s only been in the last few months that quality has improved. Just in time, too, because I was starting to consider switching to the Creepy Bears brand, which my parents have always used.
One drawback to Kirkland toilet paper (at least when I last bought it) is that, unlike other toilet paper, Costco hasn’t shrunk the width. Why is this a drawback? The first free-standing toilet paper holder I bought a few months ago couldn’t handle the wider toilet paper!
I’m going to give these a qualified yay - because I haven’t tried them. I steamed a batch up for my daughter and when I went to try one she had already scarfed them down and said they were good. I’ll update when I get one.
