za'atar

go on, throw your fave blend out.
last one I used was Cookie & Kates version. I like it, but always up for another direction.
Certainly not gonna buy it for $3/oz.

I like this one.

Local shops stock a variety of products - Lebanese, Jordanian, Syrian and Palestinian. Currently, I’m using a product from Yaffa that’s 100% Palestinian. Supplies of Palestinian products are never reliable, due to the occupation, but I’ll usually buy them if available.

Ziyad brand comes in a big bag, so that’s what I buy. We go through a lot of za’atar…can’t be paying several dollars an ounce for it!

If you have the individual components on hand, you can just make your own as needed. It’s 3:1:1 for the oregano/thyme, sumac, and sesame seeds and then you can salt to taste.

yes, that was more what I was looking for. Here in NYC, Kalustyans has a few of their own variation blends, but much better to make my own.
