Your Favorite Coffee Cup

Plus you had to suffer the indignity of saying these words out loud.

I love your tea/coffee cup. Both taste infinitely better to me out of a thin rimmed cup.

Is that a penguin? (second from the right).

Could be . Purchased from
Biordi Arts in San Francisco. I forgot the name for the majolica design.

I guess it can be a kiwi (bird).

Thanks.

Friends of mine have said the same. It’s strong and dark, but isn’t necessarily great coffee. I’ll stop at a gas station and pay $1.30 in a pinch, but I’m not donating to the dark strong franchise. If I want great coffee where I live, there’s enough mom and pops that really do have great coffee, and they’re nice folks to support. Local place, locals show up. Meet the locals, if you don’t already know them. Me gusta!

Love the flies!

I just like coffee, not a frickin’ coffee sundae. Cup, coffee…I did mention cup, right? Then coffee. Easy recipe to screw up, I guess.

That coffee sundae thing, though a joke, has gotten more money out of kids than I could hope to calculate. Coffee sundae sells. Just not to me.

I hear you. Just the names would make me too giddy to get out. Afraid i couldn’t stop an onset of the chuckles.

This is a timely topic for me as I am in search of a new coffee mug. Since we are a retired household of only 2 people, and one of us (me) sleeps a few hours later than the other we make our coffee at different times and we like different coffee beans. He uses an Aeropress and fills a huge insulated travel mug. I use a Melitta pour over cone with a ceramic mug and have two or three cups each morning. The old Melitta cone only fits only that cup, and it’s not thick enough to stay hot until I finish it. So I bought a new Melitta cone made in this century and the base is wider and accommodates more diameters… I want to find a handmade pottery mug that fits my hand and will retain heat better than the one I’ve been using. It’s been a long time since I’ve shopped in person for a specific item. We have a lot of potters with studios out here and I’m looking forward to visiting some of them this fall.

I used to make the morning big ole pot of coffee for all the teachers and staff in school. Then, I switched to a 12 cup drip, since so many were carrying theirs in (at $5 a pop). Now, I just have my little 4C dripper. Pss on 'em. If I felt that $5 coffee were really that good, I’d buy one now and then. From people my age I know and trust, I’m gonna feel like I’m out $3.80.

I’d rather spend that $5 on quality coffee beans that have been roasted recently. usually, though, it’s MaxHouse, Hills, sometimes I’ll buy Chock Full O Nuts when I’m feeling sassy. $10 a tub. Lasts weeks and feeds two people.
