The great thing about that is that you can ignore them. Or maybe you can’t
Ew. Glad I’ve never encountered that kind of messy drink.
Dead horses that have been subjected to repeated beatings should be on my list as well - thx so for the reminder!
An article in my newspaper today suggest the trend for avocado on toast may have peaked in the UK, to be increasingly replaced by mashed peas on toast. It’s yer cost of living crisis, innit.
Hey, I’d hit that! Sweet pea mush with fresh dill or parsley, topped with bacon or ham? Bring it.
Bacon!?
Bacon’s a seasoning now? Unless you’re talking those vile “bacon” bits…
Absolutely. Always goes in our macaroni cheese, for example.
Well, yeah. There are def dishes for which bacon is essential. I just don’t see it everywhere these days like some of the other things that have come up - tho it def was a big trend for a while to put it in and on everything.
May also be regional, of course.
Several years ago a major food magazine came out with the ‘bacon issue’.
I gifted a copy to all my bacon lover friends. I did read through one first. Bacon cocktails, bacon weaves, bacon cream sauce (sweet), bacon everything! That may have been the beginning of the bacon craze. Now, I know people love and have the right to cherish and consume their bacon anyway they’d like. Not for me.
The ‘Olive Oil Everything’ (poured over everything all the time) movement certainly is gaining ground.
Server then, holding the massive pepper grinder: “Would you like some ground pepper on that?”
Server now, holding a growler sized bottle of EVOO: “Can I dress your plate/dish with some ________(name of source, country of origin) olive oil?”
This isn’t all that recent: CBD, etc in food stuffs. “Now with CBD!”
Breakfast cereal? Olive oil? Put it in my herb infused salt.

You know you can start a thread (or two) to elicit positives.
Whereas I will never cease to be puzzled by people who have an almost compulsive need to comment on or participate in a thread that is not to their liking or of any personal value to them… when so many others that may already exist, or one could create their own, as per @gaffk’s suggestion.
Boredom? Cry for attention? Just plain ole misanthropy?
It’s a strange phenom, for sure.

I’m genuinely curious about anyone’s motivation to shit on a thread they don’t care for - not you specifically - that is all.
Happy holidays to you and yours! Looking forward to your threads about happy dining experiences.
Foam, I know it’s not recent but I thought it had died a slow death. It seems to still be around (or making a comeback?). It looks like spit.
Great description!
Curated ice cubes.
Only if they charge extra, tho. I like my big ballz / squares
Tender sweet winter garden kale is pretty amazing! I hate feeling like I’m eating steel wool (also why I rarely roast broccoli).
